Puna Hale is located in a quiet neighborhood where neighbors enjoy walking their dogs and enjoying the beauty of tropical surroundings. There is a family cottage on the other side of the carport with a completely separate entry and parking area. This is sometimes occupied by the owners or family members. There is a public trail at the end of the road that leads down to the lava ledge (pali) where you can watch the waves crashing on the rocks. The Kehena subdivision is a nice quiet neighborhood where you can enjoy walking safely. The Black sand beach is about a 10 minute walk further east on Moana Kai Pali then turn right on Hwy 137. The trail down to the beach is just past the parking lot on the ocean side. It is a rock climb to access the beach. The east end of the beach has an easier but longer route.
