Come stay at The Florida Sunshine: a private suite that opens up to a swimming pool and a lusciously green backyard. Halfway between the Intracoastal Waterway and Jacksonville's sandy beaches, it offers a quaint getaway for couples, friends, or business travelers. Near popular restaurants, bars, and venues, it is also never far from surfing, kayaking, golf courses, or pro sporting events. St. Augustine, Fernandina, and Orlando are easy day trips; plus Mayo Clinic is just a few minutes away. The suite is attached to the house, but has a private entrance in the back yard. Guest parking is to the left of the driveway, or along the street in front of the house. Enter through the gate along the brick path and follow it around the corner to find The Florida Sunshine. Directly outside the suite is a small shed, packed with beach cruisers, a surfboard, boogie boards, and pool floats for guests to enjoy. To the right is a hot/cold outdoor shower that's glorious after a trip to the beach, or for a quick rinse when getting out of the pool. There is also small sitting area to the left of the entrance, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or a quiet chat. Feel free to open the umbrella and enjoy an outdoor meal at the patio table, or work on your tan with the various lounge chairs around the pool. Get cozy with a book in the secluded palmetto nook, take a nap in the hammock, or have a late-night hang-out on the wooden deck under the solar-powered string lights and honeysuckle. Inside is a large suite with a Queen-sized bed, plus an oversized chair and a gossip table for sitting. Guests may enjoy the small (but growing) library, activity books, games, or the mounted television with cable access. If you love to cook, the kitchenette comes with a microwave, a mini fridge, oven, and a glass-top stove. Basic kitchen essentials are provided, but don't hesitate to ask if you need to borrow something specific. There is a high-top table for dining, and the cabinets are filled with an assortment of flatware, pots, pans, and silverware. The kitchenette also comes stocked with snacks and coffee! A moderate bathroom sits in between the bed and the sitting area. Bathroom has towels, washcloths, sundries, and a spacious walk-in shower with a sitting bench. Don't forget to unpack and settle in. There is a small dresser and a closet with hangers and rolling racks for guests to use. The closet also stores extra towels and linens, in case they are needed. Guests will have access to a fully private suite, along with a shared driveway, patio, cozy deck, and pool. If you plan to stay at The Florida Sunshine for longer than one week, access to a washer/dryer will also be made available. I will be available during work via text messaging if there are any issues. Otherwise, you might find me having a drink and doing crossword puzzles on my enclosed patio at night, or working around the yard on the weekends. A short walk around the corner will bring you to Cinotti's Bakery, insanely famous for their pumpkin donuts in the fall. Right next door is Dwight's Bistro, truly a hidden gem for fine dining in Jacksonville. In the adjacent lot is Surfwiches sandwich shop and a yoga studio. The Florida Sunshine is within biking distance of Jarboe Park, the Jacksonville Beach Pier, the Beaches Town Center, numerous breweries, and multiple beach access points in Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, or Jax Beach. There are two bikes available for use anytime. Biking around the beach is common, so a quick bite or a brewery visit, a trip to the beach, or cruising the streets is definitely encouraged. Please note: the central heating and air for the private suite is controlled in the main house, and I like to keep it very cool. If you get cold easily, it might be best to pack socks and a light sweater, just in case. There is also a large tabby cat named Rocky that wanders around the patio. He is very friendly, but will not bother anyone. Additionally, if you would like to invite a guest to visit you/swim in the pool, all I ask is that you get in touch with me beforehand just so that I am aware. My grandchildren and I live in main house and we want to make sure that everyone can have a good time without interfering each other's plans.
