The space that you will occupy is 900 sq/ft and includes one bedroom, one bath, with two King beds, a work station, breakfast nook, flat screen TV and private entrance and hot tub!. WIFI, linens, towels, hair dryer, iron and ironing board are all provided. Very comfortable with Temperpedic mattresses and bathtub. We keep things really clean for our guests and the kitchen and most of the space are newly renovated so its really clean!!! This space is on the ground floor of a classic Brooklyn Brownstone like you see on TV and in the movies depicting New York. It gets tons of morning sun and if you don't want the sun to wake you up the space has pocket louvers, a classic touch of original brownstone detail. Although this space is officially a shared space in our home and listed as such in compliance with NYC laws, we can offer you a lot of privacy during your stay. The space you will occupy is separated from the space we mostly occupy by two interior doors that can be closed to offer you privacy when you need it. There is a bathroom that can be private to you during your stay. Also, the bedrooms can be completely private to you during your stay. The living area is separated by two doors that lead into the space that we mostly occupy which we can usually keep closed while hosting guests to give you more privacy. You'll likely meet us! The space has WIFI. There is a separate wifi for the back yard area. We provide linens and one set of towels. Interactions between us is completely dictated by you. If you'd like to meet face to face that's easy and I'll gladly share a chat or even a morning coffee! If you'd prefer to communicate remotely that's okay too! Historic Bed Stuy is one of the most talked about real estate locations in Brooklyn. An up-and-coming neighborhood, Bed Stuy boasts some of Brooklyn's nicest brownstones and great restaurants. The population is a nice, multicultural mix of artists, young professionals and their families and old timers that have been in the neighborhood for decades. Bed Stuy Brooklyn is an exciting neighborhood and my family and thousands of others like us have enjoyed watching Bed Stuy develop into a delightful cultural mixing pot. Like Harlem, Bed Stuy was once a dangerous ghetto years ago but it is nearly completing a gentrification that has made this neighborhood much more safe. Artists, chefs and young entrepreneurs now have a strong foothold in this part of BK and are proud to call Bed Stuy home! This is reflected in the stylish touches to classic homes that Bed Stuy is famous for and dining experiences in restaurants with that authentic charm that is becoming increasingly rare in NYC! The vast majority of guests feel completely safe in Bed Stuy as our reviews will show. But as with all places in New York City, we recommend that caution be exercised while walking around late at night. While there aren't yet cafes and restaurants on very block this will be a reality in Bed Stuy in another 5-10 years. In the meantime, a new shop opens up almost every week here in bed stuy and it is a very exciting time to be here. There are a couple of cafes within walking distance of us but as of yet there isn't a great restaurant within walking distance of us. There are a dozen great restaurants in the neighborhood though and these can be reached in a short cab ride of 5 minutes. If authentic New York is what you are looking for, then Bed Stuy Brooklyn is where you'll find it! The G train is just 1.5 blocks away and take less than 5 minutes to walk to! That train will take you to Manhattan in 20 minutes with a transfer to another train! That's really good compared to the average commute from Brooklyn to Manhattan which takes over 45 minutes! The JMZ trains are also about a 5 minute walk away and they will take you directly to Manhattan and to many points in BK as well. Between these 4 trains there isn't anywhere in NYC that you cant get to! We no longer allow guest access to the pool as of April 2021. Hot tub is still accessible to guests. Our home is not well suited for children under the age of 12 for safety reasons-- an unfenced pool in the back yard that is off limits to guests. Absolutely no entertaining. Only those guests on the reservation allowed.
