Loons’ Nest Landing is a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath condo on beautiful Crooked Lake, shared sandy shoreline, and a private 3rd floor balcony for spectacular sunrises and sunsets. A community gas grill, tables and chairs, swings, and a fire pit are available to guests in the common area courtyard, or in winter settle in beside the condo’s electric fireplace to enjoy the frozen lake views and watch the ice fishing. Be on the lookout for bald eagles, minks, muskrats, loons, swans, and other wildlife! Charming cottage style condo fully remodeled Fall of 2021. Loons’ Nest Landing is ideally located 6 miles from Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Nubs Nob, and Boyne Highland ski resorts, and a block from the Petoskey to Mackinaw hike and bike trail (which links to Little Traverse Wheelway and other trails). A scenic drive 30 miles north takes you to Mackinaw City and the Mackinac Bridge, with ferry service to Mackinac Island. Northern Michigan offers great dining, shopping, many beautiful golf courses and wineries, and Petoskey State Park is just 3 miles away. You will feel right at home in the foodie's kitchen which is well stocked with dishes and instant pot for cooking and baking, and there’s an electric grill on the private balcony. The condo offers a bedroom with a king size bed, a bunk room with a full over queen bunk bed, and a queen quality sleeper couch in the living room. We also provide a pack and play with cotton bedding. All bedding and towels are included and the condo offers a washer and dryer in the unit. Cable and high speed Internet are provided, and there is ample parking and an elevator. No pets and no smoking are allowed in the condo or on the balcony. No trailer or RV parking available. Inland House has a long history! The original Inland House was built in 1879 and consisted of five guest rooms. It was purchased in 1908, renamed the Conway Inn, and enlarged to 3 stories (which subsequently burned) with an eight stall boathouse. Flowing Artesian wells flowed so strong that the third story had running water in each room. In 1914 it was purchased and renamed The Inland House. In 2002, The Inland House sold its rooms as condominiums, and an additional three story structure (where our condo is) was built in 2003. You have full, private access to our condo and its balcony facing the lake. The community welcomes you in our courtyard! Sit at a table or in adirondack chairs, fish from the docks, enjoy the firepit, or use the gas grill while you're there. The bike storage is only for owners, and the community room at this time is available only to owners, as well. We have ample parking in the south lot just before Conway's only stoplight if you're going north on Merritt Street (US 31 North). The elevator is located in the corner where the 2 story building meets the 3 story building, and there are stairs on each end of our 3 story building. Grocery stores and restaurants are a few minutes away by car. We divide our time between Michigan and Colorado but are available by phone, text, or email with no or little delay. We want to be responsive to your questions! March through May we have work in Hawai'i so there may be a slight lag if you contact us while we're sleeping. Please call Mary during those months if you have an emergency because her phone will ring at night. Things we love about the surrounding area: boating on Crooked Lake and navigating the Inland Waterway through the Chain-of-Lakes; hiking nearby nature trails and biking to Mackinaw City or to Petoskey on the paved Wheelway; golfing on one of Northern Michigan's pristine courses; snow skiing, snowmobiling, or ice fishing in the winter; dining and shopping in Harbor Springs and Petoskey's Gaslight District; scenic drives through the Tunnel of Trees or touring local wineries and craft breweries. Seasonally, fresh produce from local farms, and amazing farmers markets is a great way to stock your kitchen! You’ll need a car to explore all the wonderful areas nearby, but consider bringing or renting bicycles because there are amazing hike and bike trails all over! If you have a boat, check with us for possible availability of our slip. Feel free to leave your pack and play at home. We provide one with cotton bedding. If you need room for more guests, please check out our other property next door: Lakeside Lookout!
