The apartment is close to waterfalls, wineries, restaurants, universities and lakes. Country setting, yet only a 4 minute drive to Ithaca. The 1,000 sq. ft. apt provides a jet bathtub and shower; a sunny bedroom with very comfy bed; & an excellent sleeper sofa mattress for 2 extra guests. Dishes and cookware are included, there is a swivel mount smart TV, and free WIFI. Great getaway for singles and couples, business travelers and campus visitors. The apartment is completely furnished with the guest's comfort in mind. The kitchen has a gas stove and is fully stocked with all the equipment and dishware one would need to prepare a great meal. It has a large single sink and dishwasher, quartz counters and marble backsplash. The bath has marble finishes, a heated floor, thick towels and a spa tub to make you feel pampered. The mattress is like a cloud and even the sleeper sofa has an air mattress for complete comfort. The living area has a wall mount smart TV (roku channels), and Wi-Fi is available. The outdoor area has a lovely little private patio garden with a gas grill, sun umbrella and table to enjoy being outdoors in summer months. Your safely lit parking space is located at the end of the drive nearest the apartment - about 25 feet away. You have your own private patio/garden area outside the apartment which includes a gas grill and table for 6. Please respect my privacy as I do yours, by not entering the garden areas behind the house, and by using my cell number for contact should you have a question or problem. I am always available for help or questions. I try to give my guests as much privacy as possible while still making myself available if they have a question or problem. I will text you on your departure day to coordinate your ETA and give directions if you need them. Please respond to my request for a general ETA when you depart so I can leave the house to go about my day, without staying close by unnecessarily waiting for your arrival. I will be here to greet you to go over things in the apt and answer any questions. There are also brochures in the desk to help you plan fun activities in the area. After your first night, I will check in by text to see if you lack anything or have any questions, and then will leave contact up to you should you need me for any reason. Departure time is 10am but may be extended if there is not an immediate booking right after your departure. Let me know if you'd like an extension and I'll see if it's possible for you to sleep in a bit. While the apartment is located 4 minutes from Ithaca on a main road, it is also considered a rural area and is set well back from the road. We are minutes by car from several parks, waterfalls and streams (Buttermilk, Treman, Diamond Trail and Taughannock Falls), and in about six minutes you can be at The Commons with all the wonderful shops and restaurants available to you there. Cornell and Ithaca College campuses take a bit longer, especially during graduation weekend because of the heavy traffic. It is always best to contact those special sites you may wish to visit to see if they have specific times open or visiting restrictions. The house is set well back from the main road and has private parking for guests. It is on the Tompkins County bus route. A bus schedule will be located in the desk of the apartment along with brochures describing local points of interest, but it is suggested you have your own private transportation, as the local bus does not run as often as city buses. You can easily contact a cab or Uber driver in Ithaca. Rental bicycles are available everywhere in downtown Ithaca. There are numerous boat rental agencies for fishing and water sports. We are about a 14 minutes drive from the local airport. Please check directly with the companies you may wish to use. If hiking is your thing the apt is near Taughannock Falls State Park; the Black Diamond hiking trail; Buttermilk Falls; Robert H.Treman Park; and Ithaca Falls. We are close to the natural history Museum of the Earth (which has a mastodon); Cornell University's Johnson Museum of Art and the Botanical Gardens; and the Sapsucker Woods Department of Ornithology. You have easy access to the Cayuga Wine trail, the Seneca Wine trail, and Cayuga Art trail featuring local artisans. The area also has a cider house, distillery, and several breweries nearby. For a day trip to the west on Seneca Lake - Watkins Glen race track is 40 minutes away as is the Watkins Glen Gorge, and it's around 55 minutes to Corning Glass factory and the Rockwell western art museum in Corning - which has a great collection of paintings, sculpture and illustrated correspondence from the day. Another day excursion to the east could include the Mackenzie Childs factory which is located on the east shore of Cayuga Lake, along with the Harriet Tubman house in Auburn (45 minutes away) and at bit further is the lovely town of Skaneateles with interesting shops on the main street along with boat tours to view historic "cottages" (mansions) around the lake. Trumansburg is 10 minutes away with restaurants and the Ithaca Commons has several top class restaurants as well. All of this in the most beautiful setting you can imagine!
