Guest house on K Farm - AKA Fairy’s House
The guest house will be accented by local fruit, flowers, fresh local chocolate, locally produced soap, and other bounty from the land upon arrival. WiFi is working well! Note: A very friendly cat named Nico and his mom, Fairy, make their home here. This Airbnb is not for people with serious cat allergies. However, this property has a second Airbnb, which has no cats attached to it: if you’re interested, please follow this link: Airbnb! https://abnb.me/LQ8F0cBG4zb Large balcony and fresh trade wind air. Peaceful view of the ocean looking North. Kitchen with mini fridge/freezer. A very nice propane STOVE and OVEN. Deluxe tile bathroom/shower with Stained glass. There is a new, full-size bed (i know, the other description says: 'Queen') in the main indoor living space, extra linens are stored in drawers underneath the bed. There is a twin (one person) bed in the loft. Local coffee, tea, provided as well as local sugar or honey. A very friendly Cat named Fairy. Only 1 mile off of the main highway, 7 miles to Honoka'a town. (some people consider it a long mile) Honoka'a is low key town with a few decent restaurants, A sometimes interesting first Friday event, annual peace parade, kava bar, plantation era movie theater, Very nice skate park (really), small healthfood store, grocery store and several places to buy local products such as grass fed beef, flowers, crafts, etc. Laupahoehoe point park, Kalopa park, Akaka Falls, The Hamakua coast, Hilo, Waimea, Waipi'o valley, are all accessible within a day from this outpost. White sandy beaches are 45 minutes from this spot. Further: Hawi about 70 minutes. Hilo is a 50 minute to 1 hour scenic drive from here. And Volcano and Pahoa further on, about an hour and a half. Laminated instruction plaques will come soon. :-) meanwhile I will be available. I am more than happy to interact with the guests, but unless asked, I will respect the privacy of my visitors. We visit Laupahoehoe Point regularly, our nearest easy ocean access. For hiking, Forest, and native forest Kalopa park is straight up the mountain. Hilo is a 50 minute drive from here, end it will take you about that long to get to the nearest white sandy beaches. Public buses circumnavigate the island and run on regular schedules, though the times are a little funny, mostly very early or later in the day. They are fun to take if you can get them. The structure is "off grid" and all electricity is supplied by the rooftop solar panels. Prolonged usage of high power usage items such as hairdryers and arc welders may cause temporary Power outages. Though, it hasn't happened yet. update: ok well it's rare and short lived. Wi-Fi is reliable at the moment. Cell phones with Verizon work best in this area.
