Villa Laguna is a unique space for retreats and group experiences. Located in a secluded area of the stunning Laguna de Apoyo Natural Reserve, right at the shore of the crater lagoon, we offer you the opportunity to unplug, relax and reconnect with yourself in an idyllic setting while we take care of you. This listing is for a twin room that can be booked for one person (and shared with another guest) or for two people for private use. If what you are looking for is a private room for 1 person only, please check our other listings. If you book this room for one person only, you will be paired up with another guest. The room has ample space for two people and a spacious private bathroom (shower with hot water!). Additional features include ceiling and table fan, and strong wifi connection. There are a total of 7 rooms in the villa, and we usually cater for solo travelers, couples or friends. Your package includes 2 meals per day (breakfast and dinner) and lunch is offered at an additional cost if you wish to join us. Our food is 100% veggie (gluten-free vegan options available) cooked right in front of your eyes in our open kitchen. Meals are served in a communal table to create opportunities of connection among our guests. Your package also includes 2 yoga classes per day one at sunrise and one at sunset, and you are free to choose if you join both or one of them (or none!). If you need to work remotely while you are with us, there are a few communal areas that are perfect for it. We are huge advocates of animal welfare in Nicaragua and as such, your booking includes a donation to one of the wonderful local organizations that we support that carries out great work protecting and improving the lives of animals in the country. Feel free to ask us for more details! Villa Laguna sits over an acre of volcanic land, right at the shore of the Laguna de Apoyo crater lagoon. The main building houses the rooms, kitchen and living areas. There is a yoga shala overlooking the water, which you are welcome to use at your convenience outside of class hours. Upstairs, there is an area where massages are offered for an additional cost. There is also a rancho area where lunch is served that offers also the perfect space to work from or relax reading a book in one of the hammocks. Plenty of garden space is available, with sunbeds and hammocks for all as well as direct access to the beach. Kayaks and other floaties are at your disposal to maximize your time in the water. We live onsite in a house located at the back of the property and we have a lovely team that helps us with cleaning, cooking, gardening, maintenance, etc. We are able to help with things such as transportation, tours, activities, etc. We have vast knowledge of Nicaragua and are always happy to be of service when we can! We are located in a remote area of the Laguna de Apoyo Natural Reserve. This is the caldera of a volcano that imploded about 20,000+ years ago and got filled with rain water. We are surrounded by a protected dry forest that houses several wild animals such as monkeys, birds, opossums, etc... There are no other properties nearby. This also means the nearest shop (pulpería) is over 1km away from us, and so is the nearest restaurant. There are a few hiking trails you can do if you head out of the property, and we will be happy to give you directions so you can make the most of your time in nature. The last 2kms before reaching the property are unpaved. You need to drive here as there is no access with public transport (the nearest bus stop is 4kms away and services are very infrequent. If you are driving, we highly recommend a high vehicle or 4x4 for your convenience, although it is not strictly necessary. The road is suitable for sedans. Please note that big buses or very low vehicles cannot make it here. If you need transportation, we recommend you book it directly with us, as we know the best drivers and you won't get cheated or dropped off somewhere else. We offer competitive transportation services to/from the airport and any other parts of the country. - You are not able to use the kitchen for cooking during this type of stay. In order to have full use of the kitchen, you need to book the entire villa (you can find that option in a separate listing under our profile). - We are located in a natural reserve and chances are you will encounter a bug at some point. - There are 10 rescue cats and 4 rescue dogs in the property and they roam around freely (they are all friendly), so if you do not like (or are allergic to) pets, this might not be your ideal place.
