And when you're finally ready to settle in for the night, enjoy a nice hot shower with your oversized rainfall shower head with real rain water! Afterwards you'll rest peacefully on your luxurious, memory foam queen mattress while listening to the magical sounds of the rainforest. Wake up in the morning and enjoy a cup of coffee on the upstairs lanai or spend some time swinging in the handmade rope swing hanging from your tree house. And after your long day of exploring the nearby beaches and hiking in the Volcano National Forest, return to your tree house to relax in your personal hammock or hot tub for a perfect end to a perfect day. At night you'll be serenaded by the sweet chirping of coqui frogs. Key Residence Features: - Amenities include a fully equipped kitchen with blender, gas stove, french press, coffee maker, full sized refrigerator and toaster. Flat-screen TV, electric fireplace/ heater, ceiling fan. Location: - Great central location - Quick access to the main highway - 20-25 minutes to Hilo - 15 minutes to Volcano National Park - 45 minutes to Black Sands Beach - 10 minutes to Volcano Village **IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS BEFORE MAKING A RESERVATION** 1. LOCATION: Home is located in a quiet neighborhood and partially off grid. A small SUV or Jeep is recommended as there is a small portion of dirt road but unless there is heavy rains/ flooding a regular sized car should do just fine. Best of both worlds off grid experience yet close to the major highway and on mostly paved roads. Great for exploring the island! 2. BUGS. There are bugs but not a lot. It is a tropical jungle but because it doesn't get super hot in Volcano there are far fewer bugs than you'd expect for a jungle location. You may consider bringing bug repellent just in case (you may need it throughout your island adventures) 3. NOISES. Living mostly off-grid in the jungle may bring its own set of noises. At night throughout the island you will be serenaded by the chirping of coqui frogs. Rustling branches, grunts and squeals means that a family of wild pigs are nearby, so quick grab the camera and enjoy the wildlife. There are also wild roosters, chickens and dogs all over the island. Some guests may be sensitive to the sounds of the island so bring ear plugs if you are. All and all most guests love being serenaded by the amazing sounds of the jungle and sleep peacefully. 4.PARTIALLY OFF GRID Being off grid means we are on propane and rain water catchment. So please be conscious of resources as they aren't unlimited but you should have plenty! In the unlikely event you run out we have back up sources if needed. 5.RESERVATION CHANGES-We typically don’t offer reservation changes so please be aware of our cancellation policy at time of booking** All of these aspects are what makes this Tropical Tree House so special, with an adventurous attitude you will surely enjoy this unique experience of living in the Rain Forest. **GET and TAT taxes are already included in the total This Partially Off Grid Home on stilts is nestled in the rural Neighborhood of the Volcano Rain Forest. 15 minutes to Volcano National Park. 20-30 min to Hilo and beaches.
