Our house is the ideal base for exploring Taos galleries & museums, enjoying the many music and art festivals or just getting away from it all! A relaxing haven for all seasons.. The Guest House is made from adobe and was designed by local architect, D.W. Hoffmann. It is within walking distance to the historic Taos Plaza and the town's restaurants and shopping. House has one private bedroom and a sleeping nook with a double sized mattress. The nook is perfect for reading or sleeping - ideal for children or for just relaxing and looking out the window! Kitchen is fully equipped with anything you might need to prepare glorious meals. Dine al fresco under the outdoor ramada or inside at the dining table that seats 6 comfortably. Enjoy the use of the outdoor fire pit when local conditions permit and the indoor fireplace on chilly nights. The Taos Ski Valley is world famous. The Rio Grande river has great rafting. The hiking is glorious. Many summer art and music activities. Some of our favorite things to do: - Taos Farmer’s Market is in the Plaza on Saturdays from 8-1:00. It is open from May to late October. - River Rafting (or inner tubing) down the Rio Grande is always fun. - Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Spa - full-service spa with private outdoor pools, detoxifying mud pool, hiking and biking trails. - Thursday Nights on the Plaza - Live music and dancing during the summer months - The Taos Center for the Arts (TCA) hosts film screenings, plays, art shows that are Taos unique. Check out their website to see what is happening during your visit. - Visit the Taos Pueblo or the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge -Tour the Earthship community to see sustainable living in action Town of Taos Short Term Rental License #2018-14 You will have access to the entire guest house including the private courtyard. There is a shared fire pit with the main house that you are welcome to use (provided the town of Taos is currently allowing outdoor fires!) The Casa is my second home. I live in Los Angeles but Bill and Nancy live in the "Big House" and are available to answer any questions. The Casa is a 10 minute walk into town where you will find the famous Taos Plaza, restaurants and shopping. Make sure you say hi to the Llamas in the field next door! FUN THINGS TO DO WITH FAMILIES: - The Youth and Family Center offers roller-skating (ice skating in the winter) and a beautiful indoor swimming pool with water slide. - Children (and seniors) are allowed to fish in the Fish hatchery. Learning to cast a line borders on the hysterical. - Twirl is located off the Plaza next to the Alley Cantina. It has fantastic toys and a giant climbing structure. - Lunch with a Llama: With or without children, the llama trek is grand fun. It is an easy hike, mostly in the shade. The children can lead their llama on a rope. Wild Earth Llama Adventures Taos Mesa Brewing Company on the way to the Gorge has great beer selections, good food and live music. Especially fun in the summer months when you can sit outside, sip beer, and enjoy the evening. The casa is located on a one lane, dead end road, so very private and quiet.
