The name Lanikai means "Sea Heaven."[1] This small ½ mile strip of beach is consistently ranked among the best beaches in the world.[2] Adjacent to Lanikai Beach is a primarily upper-class residential area because of this it is accessible through public beach access paths. Although the beach itself is public property, it is not state land and is not a county beach park like many beaches in Hawaii. There is no public parking lot and the area lacks facilities like restrooms, showers or lifeguards. You will have your own dedicated parking spot. There is a local City Bus in the area and Bike rentals and Kayak rental available in Kailua. There are many Great Resturants in the Kailua area. Polynesian Cultrual Center is a great way to learn about the Polynesian Culture, there are many other great sights to see. There is also a Jacuzzi in the upstairs bathroom. We are at the beach so we get lots of sand on our feet, I would appreciate it if you could rinse the sand from your feet before entering the house as the cleaners charge an extra $25.00 fee for excess sand.
