Kona Bali Kai is a beach front "condotel" property, the only one in town with a natural, not man-made, beach. The property has units both ocean front and across Alii Drive (the beach road in Kailua-Kona). This condo is on the second floor (by stairs) in Building 4 of Kona Bali Kai, across the street from the beach. You can be on the beach in a minute (and there's even a peek-a-boo view of the high water line of the waves rolling in from the lanai through the parking garage across the street)! There are three gas barbecues and picnic tables on the beach-front lawn, and another barbecue with picnic table behind the buildings on "our" side of the street. There is a heated pool and jacuzzi for your use as well, shared with other Kona Bali Kai guests and residents in the ocean front building. In addition to being a great and very comfortable space (reclining sofa, massage chair, king size bed), it also has strong stable internet to support "Work From Home". The condo is fully equipped for your enjoyment! Strong wifi, Smart TV, Soundbar with Blue Tooth access for playing music as well as great TV watching. Do you love coffee? We provide men's large and women's medium snorkel gear, beach chairs, beach/pool towels, beach umbrella and cooler for you to use. We also have a little fold-up table (a breakfast-in-bed type) to carry to the beach for your drinks and snacks. From the hightop table on the lanai you have a great vantage point to "people watch" - runners, cyclists, and the life of Kona. A retractable sunscreen protects from the afternoon sun. Free parking for your vehicle is in the parking lot at our building. For extra storage, the bed has been raised above the normal height. There is a bench at the foot of the bed to provide a "step up". Suitable for just two people, you will find everything you want or need for your Hawaii vacation! Kona Bali Kai is a Non-Smoking property. Taxes, included with your reservation, are based on the nightly rate + cleaning fee, and include Hawaii State Excise Tax (listed as "Sales Tax" @ 4.712%), State Accommodation taxes (10.25%) and Hawaii County Accommodation Tax (3%). Everything you need for cooking and living is in the condo, including a fully stocked kitchen, sheets and towels, soaps and shampoo, high speed internet, flat screen TV, massage chair, sound bar with blue tooth to play music from your devices, reclining couch, living room air conditioning, Cal-King size bed, shower/bath tub, washer and dryer. We are always just a text or phone call away. We have someone within 5 minutes of the condo that is available if questions can't be answered by text or phone. Check-in is easy, as all arrangements are made in advance, and an electric key-pad entry with your unique code is provided. The condo is on Alii Drive, Kona's beach road, located midway between Kailua town and Keauhou (shopping and restaurants are just 2 1/2 miles in either direction!) The Poke Shack (pronounced PO-kay), with its delicious selections of Hawaiian style fresh ahi (yellow fin tuna) is just across the street! The beach at Kona Bali Kai is our coast's favorite surf break ("Banyans"), and you can always tell if the waves are big if the road is lined with trucks and cars. Sea turtles are often lounging and eating in the tide pools on the beach and sometimes sunning on the sand, spinner dolphins and (from January to March) humpback whales splash close to shore. Access to the main around-the-island highway is just a mile away. Kona doesn't have a good public transportation system, so a rental car is very important to have. It's a BIG island! Free parking for your vehicle is in the parking lot at the building, and a permit will be provided. Alii Drive is a good cycling road, and there are a few bike rental kiosks along Alii Drive. As well, the Kona Trolley with rides for just $2 has a stop just in front of the condo. The route runs between the Keauhou Outrigger Hotel and Kona Commons on Makala Blvd. There are also bike rental kiosks up and down Alii Drive, the nearest one at Magic Sands, a mile away. Kona Bali Kai is midway between the Keauhou Resort area and Kailua-Kona, both of which are about three miles away. Shopping (grocery, sundries, boutiques) and restaurants are in these areas. The condo is about 20 minutes from the airport. Bike rental kiosks are dotted along Alii Dr (nearest one is a mile away). The “Kona Trolley” runs from the Outrigger Hotel to Kona Commons Shopping Center has a stop right outside the condo.
