The property was built by donors from abroad so that the rent benefit and support the underprevilaged little monks of Phajoding Monastery (3+ hour hike from Thimphu). Thimphu Khangzang is just 5 mins taxi ride from Clock Tower Square, which is considered the heart of Thimphu and near which most popular restaurants, cafes, bars and clubs are located. With hardwood flooring in all rooms, the rooms have access to sunlight and are well heated in winter. The master bedroom is spacious. It has a king size bed and two two-seater cabriole sofa with a coffee table in between. The carpets are hand woven out of sheep wool. The spacious living room that opens up to a big stone cladded patio (with a great view) is furnished with cozy sofas and hand woven carpets (yak wool) from Tibet. The whole house has access to wifi internet connection. The carpets used are imported from Tibet and are hand woven out of yak and sheep fur. We have a fenced compound and it also encloses a private parking space that easily fits 4 cars. The rooms and toilets are of three star hotel standard but unlike hotels you get the whole place for yourself. - We can take care of your visa for Bhutan. If you are from India, you will need passports (no other documents will work) in order for us to pre process your visa. This will include all road permits as well. We will respect your privacy and we also expect the same from you. Cheap But Must Eats in Thimphu: 1. Bunu Restaurant, Changzamtog - 5 minutes walk. For Nu. 100 will get a place of rice, dal and veg. curry plus one choice of non veg curry. The food is mostly Southern Bhutanese style but locals of all walks like to flock there. 2. T.C. Restaurant, Clock Tower Square - 5 to 7 mins taxi ride from Thimphu Khangzang. We always go there for their bhatup (pork or beef) with pork shaftha (pork curry). 3. Momo & Noodles, Clock Tower Square - 5 to 7 mins taxi ride from Thimphu Khangzang. They have the best momos in Thimphu (Bhutanese style dumplings). 4. Yangkhil Restaurant, Chang Lam, Near Police Station - 7 to 10 mins drive from Thimphu Khangzang. 5 mins walk from Clock Tower. This is the place where everybody go eat local food when they get tired of home cooked meals or they get tired of cooking at home. Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere inside the house, but you can smoke out on the patio. We have a designated smoking zone. Keep the common toilet clean.
