An expansive ocean and mountain view cottage with a salt water pool located near prime Big Island beaches. This is a large studio ohana that comfortably sleeps two. There are big ocean and mountain views. In the winter months you may even see whales from the lanai! You can follow our adventures on Insta gram at PamelaWonderWoman You can find us online by searching for Kohala Loke Lani Please find us online by doing a search for Kohala Loke Lani. A large, renovated studio ohana on the tranquil Kohala Coast with exquisite Ocean and Mountain views. Kohala Loke Lani means "Cherished Land of the Heavenly Rose" and it aptly describes the property. Kohala Loke Lani now has a Salt Water Pool! After returning from a day of exploring the island you can enjoy a dip in the pool or just revel in the view of the ocean over the water. The sunsets are exquisite from the pool deck! The pool is shared with the owner's unit, so it will never be crowded. The pool hours are from 8 am to 7 pm - later upon request. The unit comfortably sleeps two people in the queen size bed. There is a full bathroom with shower. This ohana has a large private screened lanai with a BBQ and outside dining. There are big expansive ocean and mountain views of Mauna Loa and Hualalai. Mauna Kea is also visible from the property. There is another, separate lanai that is perfect for nightly stargazing. If you get tired of going to the beautiful nearby beaches, swimming in the crystal clear ocean, snorkeling, hiking, zip-lining, or exploring the island, the ohana has wireless internet, Peacock TV, Hulu, Roku and a Netflix account. There is also a Bluetooth speaker to listen to music. While the space is most comfortable, and priced, for two people, there is a beautiful pull-out sofa bed if you'd like to have your child travel with you. We also have a Pack n Play for very young children. This is a separate building on our property, but is directly next door to the main building. You'll have access to the ohana building, pool, and attached lanais. We live on the property in a separate building. We will leave you alone, other than to say hello and answer your questions, but if you need anything we'll be available. If you would like to interact more, we are always happy to visit, answer questions, or have drinks! The ohana is located on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island. This is a lovely quiet place to visit. All of the houses here sit on lots of a minimum of 1.3 acres. This region is considered to be desert. We average only 10 inches of rain per year. During our "rainy" season (August-November) our brown grass turns green. Most of the time, it is a dry, desert climate. You need a car out here. Public transit is pretty much non-existent. Taxis are very expensive. Uber and Lyft just came to the island, but they are sporadic. The Costco website has the best prices for rental cars on the island. We are about 45 minutes from the Kona Airport and two hours from the Hilo airport. We are thirty minutes from Waimea, twenty from Hawi, and five from Kawaihae. There are some restaurants in Kawaihae like Ciprianos and Seafood Bar. Kohala Divers and Ocean Sports are also in Kawaihae. The nearest beaches are Hapuna, Beach 69, Mauna Kea, and Spencer. There are some high end resorts nearby with some excellent dining options as well. The restaurants at the Fairmont Orchid are particularly good if you are going to celebrate a special occasion or just want an extremely good meal. The farmer's market in Waimea on Saturday is one of the best on the island. Make sure you sample of the huge variety of bananas. You'll be amazed by the taste differences! All people are welcome at Kohala Loke Lani. All 'diversities' are welcome and encouraged. We have one African Grey parrot, six dwarf goats, seven ducks, and twenty seven chickens. There is also a donkey that comes to visit us several days a week. There can be some animal noises on the property sporadically throughout the day. I will stress that the ohana is pet free.
