Frontline Serene Water Views at Bodega Bay
This beautiful 3 bedroom home has frontline water views of the inner harbor at Bodega Bay. Relax on the large private deck, soak in the hot tub and watch the shore birds, take a hike in the State Park next door, bike to bodega head and whale watch, kayak in the harbor, or curl up and read a good book Baymeadow is a unique private home located right above the harbor with fabulous water views and at the State Park with great sunset views. It has been lovingly renovated with an eye towards the comfort of our guests. All of the bedrooms have new foam beds with high thread count sheets, down comforters and the master bedroom has a huge eastern king deluxe tempurpedic bed. Each bedroom has its own private full bathroom and 2 cozy terrycloth bathrobes. Cozy up in the living room on the couch and take in the panoramic water views. Watch the hundreds of birds congregate just below the house or pull a book off of the bookcase, play a classic CD and just relax. The newly renovated kitchen has all the amenities you could want including place settings for 6, cloth napkins, cooking supplies and a stocked pantry. Stroll outside to the 1200 square foot deck and enjoy the view while shaded under the gazebo or take a soak in the hot tub. The house is well stocked with books, cds and games. I live nearby in Petaluma and am available to answer any questions about the house, the neighborhood or Sonoma county. If you have kayaks, you can literally walk them down the driveway to the harbor when the tide is high. Kayaking in the inner harbor is very peaceful and there is great bird watching. Bodega Bay is also a great place to go bike riding. If you follow Westshore Road around the harbor, you will come to Bodega Head which is a nice ride and there is great whale watching for you at the end. There is also excellent hiking nearby. If you go down the driveway and turn right on Westshore you will come to a boat launch and campground. Almost immediately opposite the far end of the campground you will see a break in the fence and a trail which crosses the bluff (watch for ticks) which goes all the way to a very private section of beach. There is also a great hike around Bodega Head from the main parking lot. If golfing is your preference, check out the Links at Bodega Harbour. There is horseback riding nearby at Chanslor Ranch which is just north of town. Eating is also a great local activity. Right around the corner on Westshore is the Spud Point Crab Company for excellent clam chowder and fresh crab, or Fisherman's Cove next door which has a killer tri tip sandwich. If you go back to Eastshore Road, there is a small shopping center that has a nice coffee house and Terrapin Creek Restaurant which I think is the best restaurant in Bodega Bay, but you will need reservations. If you go back to Bodega Highway, Pelican Plaza has a nice market with good sandwiches and right at the corner is the Boat House which is my favorite for fish and chips. There is also Lucas Wharf, and Inn at the Tides which are larger restaurants and both sell fresh local seafood. Eat at Lucas Wharf and have a drink and enjoy the view from the Tides. The Fishetarian next to Luca Wharf has good fish and chips as well. A little further down the highway hidden behind a berm on the highway is the Dog House which has great burgers, hotdogs and fries. There is also an ice cream store right there. We are at the end of the road so you will need a car to get around and see the sights. I normally require a 4 night minimum stay.
