Drive the road to Hanalei for a sweeping tour of Kauai's splendor. Stop off at Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge. And refuel at the largest coffee plantation in Hawaii: the Island Coffee Company's 4,000-acre Kauai Estate Plantation. However you see Kauai, it promises excitement, beauty, and culture at every vantage point. DRIVING DIRECTIONS: Directions from the Airport (15 miles - 30 minutes). As you exit the Lihue Airport you will be on Ahukini Road. You continue straight through the traffic light for about a mile until you reach the intersection of Kuhio Highway / Highway 56, where you are forced to turn either left or right. You turn left onto Kuhio Highway / Highway 56 West which will automatically merge into Highway 50 West. You continue on Highway 50 West as it leaves Lihue toward the Poipu area. Aproximately 12 miles down the road you will see a sign indicating to turn left to Koloa or Poipu. When you turn left you will be on Maluhia Road / Highway 520 which is also known as The Tree Tunnel. This leads to Koloa Town and the Poipu area. As you enter Old Koloa Town, you turn right onto Koloa Road. Less then a block later at the service station, you turn left on to Poipu Road. You follow Poipu Road about two miles where you reach the first of two entrances to Kiahuna Plantation & The Beach Bungalows. Bypass the first or (west) entrance and proceed to the second or (east) entrance turning right to enter. As you come to a stop sign, turn right then a quick left and proceed down the hill.
