If you are looking for a comfortable, simple, smoke-free and toxic-free environment with natural cotton linen and organic beds then our rustic cottage is for you. Up to 5 guests can sleep in our cottage comfortably. There is a full size sofa bed downstairs and a king size and twin bed upstairs in the loft. Our 7 acre organic farmstead is located off a quiet country road just two miles from downtown Cottage Grove, 4 miles from the I5 Highway exit and 22 miles from Eugene. Currently, there is a king-size organic cotton bed and a twin size organic cotton bed in the loft upstairs and a full-size futon downstairs for sleeping. The sheets are 100% cotton and all the linen and towels are washed with fragrance free soaps. In the summer you are also welcome to set up a tent outside the cottage if extra space is needed. There is a kitchen, with a stove, oven, fridge and basic cooking utensils. There is wifi internet available. The bathroom has hot water, a shower, and a composting toilet. You can find more information on the composting toilet in the Humanure Handbook. Please, keep in mind that this is not a hotel with bleach white sheets nor freshly painted walls. We clean with natural products. The walls and floors have blemishes but they are clean. We sweep and mop them down with vinegar water. We also don't hire out the cleaning so if we miss something please just let us know and we will take care of it right away. We are a farmstead with goats and chickens so expect to see wildlife and nature, not a well kept lawn or sterile environment. We are excited to make our cottage available to folks on route or looking for a short visit in need of a simple, affordable and healthy space. Guests have access to the full cottage with parking for three cars. You are welcome to visit with the animals and tour our homestead. We have goats, sheep and chickens to enjoy. It would be best to schedule a time for a tour, though, since we are very busy during the day and both have day jobs aside from our work on our small farm. There are beautiful, scenic rides on the bike path along Row River that pass many swimming holes. In the summer, abundant blackberries are available for picking all along the bike path and there are plenty of apples in the fall. The bus to Eugene picks up just a mile away. You can even commute by only bus and bike if you would like. We strive for a toxic free environment by using natural cleaners and detergents, providing 100% cotton bedding and carpet-free flooring.
