This is a big, fun beach house with several areas to enjoy as a whole group or to tuck away from the rest of the group’s festivities for some private time. Perfect for multi-generational families and/or extended family with friends. The home is comprised of 5 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms right across from the ocean. A/C IS AVAILABLE for an additional charge of $100 per night for 4 large portable units (2 upstairs / 2 downstairs). Please arrange, prior to arrival, to have this option and cost ADDED IF you want A/C during your stay. With grace and ease, host your large family with private accommodations for all and an in-ground, shaded pool only 400 feet away from the ocean! The home’s pool is not surrounded by a fence and allows for ease of access and enjoyment by all members of your family. Enter the gates at Honu Ohana into a tropical courtyard perfect for outdoor dining, family game night or just reading or relaxing in the perfect trade wind weather that Puako offers! All the bedrooms are spaced to give you privacy when traveling with extended family or friends. Most rooms are also accessible with their own private outside entrances. Downstairs there is a large bedroom off of the main kitchen with private bathroom and a desk if you need to do some work before you go out to play for the day. This bedroom is in the back of the home with a door leading out to the back yard. Additionally, downstairs, there are 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and a second small kitchen. This area of the house could sleep 4 people and possibly an extra child as well as be closed off from the rest of the guests so it's ideal for grandparents or young families. Upstairs consists of 2 bedrooms. The Master Bedroom with Mast Bath, upstairs, opens up to a lanai and a peak of the ocean. Within the master there are also 2 twin beds. This is a nice area for children and will keep them near their parents. The 2nd Bedroom upstairs is light and airy and has a private bath. This room is considered a junior master. Ideal place to host your special family vacation or gathering at Honu Ohana in Puako. Puako is known for its world class location on the Gold Coast of Hawaii. You can enjoy easy water access for kayaking, snorkeling, diving, swimming, tide-pooling, whale watching, and sunsets. The amenities of the resorts are only minutes away as well as the historic town of Waimea which has 5 Farmer's Markets per week. Total Beds: 2 Kings, 1 Queen, 2 Full, 2 Twins. There are other sleeping options we can discuss. Loved this house and if we have a group trip again, I would stay here. ~ Denis April 5, 2019: Jay (property manager) was very helpful arranging delivery of lounge chairs for us. The cleaning lady Carol was great. Everyone was friendly and eager to help. We loved it and would like to return. February 2, 2019: The house and pool/gardens were ideal for our family gathering of 5 couples spanning 3 generations. We loved the outdoor seating for lounging and were able to pull three small tables together to dine outside. Access to the coastline was very close but there was very little sand due to strong onshore wind and waves. The swimming pool was a great alternative for quick cooling off. We were able to find other beaches within a short drive away. We found that the bedrooms varied considerably in size and amenities from a very spacious master bedroom suite with walk in closet to the two downstairs rooms with very compact bathrooms and very little space to spread out. Overall we really enjoyed the place and it met our needs. ~ Daniel August 9, 2018: Absolutely memorable for a family trip. Loved the remote location but so close to the beach. The house is beyond comfortable and the lanai was our favorite to hang out in. Thank you for sharing the home. We had a memorable stay in paradise. Grace was exceptional at responding and checking in. ~ Seema June 2018 Amazing place in a beautiful gated community! Completely renovated. The amazing views will bring a smile to your face every morning and evening! Master retreat had gym and plenty of storage. Kitchen was renovated and had every amenity you could imagine! They had great books that gave you awesome tips to explore beaches and island. We recommend Hépuna and beach 69 for awesome snorkeling. Hawi is only 15 miles away and is perfect for lunch, Coffee Ana local shopping. Will stay again!! ~ Daniel February 2018 This beautiful and comfortably-appointed home is in a scenic, serene, and quiet area with direct beach access. The house is perfect for two families to share and had many amenities (snorkel gear, cooking equipment, beach chairs, extra bedding, etc.) that made the stay easy. Very convenient to nearby beaches, hotels, and shopping, but the best experience of all was enjoying hours on the gorgeous private deck, just looking out over the reefs and ocean! Pattie and her associates were responsive, friendly, and efficient, making this property an ideal choice. This was the best experience we've had in Hawaii -- and I've been going for thirty years! What a lovely home, amazing location, and extensive amenities. Also appreciated the quick and friendly support for any and all questions. Such a treat, and memories we will enjoy for many years to come! ~Jennifer April 2017 Puako is a great place to stay, with beautiful beaches close by (69 was a favourite), and a lovely General Store for anything you forget to bring (although a little pricey)! It is quite far from Kona and grocery stores (approx 40mins), so a tip for all would be to plan your meals and shop big before you head to Puako! You will deinately need a rental car to get around and access the different beaches, and shopping areas in the nearby resorts. The house was great - well equipped with everything you require (including beach gear for the kids). Large and spacious - our extended family had plenty of room to ensure we didn't get in each other's way. However, it does get very warm upstairs, so might be an idea to purchase the additional air-con. We didn't and it was pretty sticky up there at night. Only not-as-positive feedback is safety around the pool - we had toddlers with us and needed to be on guard at all times, as we weren't able to lock some of the screen doors near the pool. Pattie was a great host - communicative and responsive.
