The Homestead features a farmhouse kitchen, complete with range/oven, microwave, dishwasher, and dining area. For cozy and comfortable evenings, the oversized living room contains a large TV and DVD player, an immense fireplace (stocked with wood for your use during colder months only), and conversation-friendly seating areas. Five bathrooms and laundry facilities make the transition to your new home-away-from-home even easier. The Homestead comfortably sleeps 8-12; maximum capacity is 16. The Homestead is a light-filled, 3100 sq ft cabin containing two separate bedrooms, each with its own full bath, a twin bed, and a full-sized bed. It also has a roomy bedroom loft area where two queen beds are separated by a large space and a privacy curtain. Each of these areas has its own full bath. Additionally, there are two smaller lofts, each with two twin beds. More sleeping space needed? There's a queen-sized sofa sleeper in the living room. This spacious cabin has both Keurig and drip coffee makers. We provide coffee, filters, and sugar. The Homestead is one of five lodgings at Mountain Ridge Cabins. The Homestead is located on 40 acres of property, which includes four other cabins, two fishing ponds, and a sport court — all surrounded by the Tonto National Forest. You will have full use of the Homestead, as well as sharing the 40-acre property, which includes two more ponds, horses, chickens, ducks, dogs, and cats. Each of the cabins has its own gas grill and shares the large, community back patio with a wood grill and fire pit. The community patio can be reserved for your group, but please arrange your time there so that you will be finishing up by 9 pm, the beginning of quiet hours. Managers for the property are on site for safety and emergencies. I may be there intermittently but will give you your space. Mountain Ridge is surrounded by Tonto National Forest. This is truly a "get away from it all" place. We are adjacent to the Highline Hiking Trail, have a sport court for basketball and volleyball, as well as fishing on the property (bring your own equipment and bait -- unbarb your hooks, as it is catch and release only. We are located 35 minutes northeast of the town of Payson, AZ, and its restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and gas stations. You want to be prepared for your stay. Please be sure to stock up on groceries and gas before heading up, as once you are here, you will not want to leave! The Tonto National Forestry Service occasionally restricts the use of fires during the highest fire danger season. Please ask if this will impact your visit when the time for your visit nears. Fishing on the property is catch and release only. Please un-barb your hooks for this purpose. We ask that you bring your own equipment and bait; no license is needed to fish on the property.
