Take a stroll along Waikiki beach and enjoy the warmth on your skin and the beach sand between your toes. This cute and upgraded 16th-floor city view studio is in the Ilikai Marina, an ocean front building located in the quieter side of Waikiki. The property is walking distance to a lot of shopping, places to eat and a easy ride away from nature, such as hiking, snorkeling and surfing. Enjoy both nature and urban style living from this thoughtfully appointed and beautiful property! WHAT OUR GUESTS LOVE ABOUT THE SPACE • Location, location, location! This property is located in a very desirable part of Waikiki. It is on the quieter side, close to the famous Waikiki Beach and Hawaiian Hilton Lagoon, close to convenient stores, and a convenient place to catch Uber, buses or rent a car. (I personally prefer this part of Waikiki and lived in this aread when I first came to Hawaii from Chicago.) • Value Prices! This building is sandwiched between the Modern Hotel and Prince Waikiki who's nightly rates are 2x - 3x the prices. • This is an "Oceanfront Property" (not necessarily ocean view but there's no other building between Ilikai Marina and the beach). • You can watch the Hawaiian Hilton Lagoon Fireworks every FRIDAY at 8:00PM. (If you don't like the crowds, you can also watch is from the staircase next to the elevators.) • 10-15 min walk to Ala Moana Center, the LARGEST outdoor mall in the WORLD. This building is also sandwiched between two hotels which are 2-3x the cost to stay. • Simple and modern design with personalized decors (resin art) that eludes tropical and ocean vibes • Bright and airy, well ventilated unit with fresh Tropical Breeze UNIT FEATURES: • VIEW: City & mountain views from the 16th floor • Comfortable Queen-sized bed with Memory Foam Topper • 500mbps Wifi (Provided by Spectrum) • Fully Stocked Kitchen (plates, pots, utensils) • Stove & Oven • Toaster • Coffeemaker • Fridge with freezer • Large Dresser & closet space • Central AC (maintained by the building and regularly serviced) • Sofabed (Paid sofabed sheet packs are available upon request) • Flat Screen Cable TV with NETFLIX • Floor to ceiling windows and sliding door that opens to let in the tropical breeze and fresh Hawaiian air WHAT'S INCLUDED: • Beach Towels (1 per guest count) • Bath Towels (2-3 per guest, depends on length of stay) • Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) • Toilet paper (starter) • Paper towel roll (starter) If there's something specific you need or would prefer, you can always ask us! HOW TO GET TO THE PROPERTY When you arrive in Waikiki, go to the building ILIKAI MARINA (not to be confused with the Ilikai Hotel across the street), the address is 1765 Ala Moana Blvd. It’s near the RED LOBSTER and the entrance is on Hobron. BUILDING FEATURES • There's a 24/7 security as soon as you enter the lobby • There's no front desk, just two sets of elevators. Use the set of elevators to the left (they take you up to the higher floors) • There is a common paid laundry area on the 8th floor. The machines take credit card or an app you can download. Waikiki is Oahu’s main hotel and resort area and a vibrant gathering place for visitors from around the world. It close to an array of different cateogies of activities such as world-class shopping, dining along the main strip of Kalakaua Avenue or nature-esque activities including hikes, surfing, snorkeling and scuba diving. It's full of tropical vibes full of aloha spirit offering a wide range of activities that are easily accessible. You can explore world-class shopping, dining along Kalakaua Avenue, or immerse yourself in nature-themed adventures like hiking, surfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving. FOOD + RESTAURANTS These restaurants are located within 5 minutes walking of the space:  • The Chart House • The Harbor Pub • The Grove Restaurant & Bar (The Modern Honolulu Hotel) • 100 Sails Restaurant & Bar (The Prince Waikiki Hotel) • Katsumidori Sushi Tokyo • Honolulu Coffee Company • Red Lobster (On the corner of the block) AREA ATTRACTIONS • Ala Moana Center • Diamond Head • Hiking • Beach activities: Snorkeling, Surfing, Scuba, etc. The building is very convenient to a lot of places and attractions so walking and biking is a good option. Other options available are: • shuttle • taxi • ride-share (Uber/Lyft) • public transportation • rental cars (to be arranged before arriving, and can be availed in the airport) PARKING OPTIONS: • MARINA PARKING GARAGE: this garage is attached to the building and is very convenient. It is $28/day and is paid directly to the parking attendant. • METERED STREET PARKING: behind the building and near the harbor. It’s $1/hr and can be a good option for shorter parking times. If you are taking trips to other islands during your stay, transportation options may vary. (FEATURES + QUIRKS) • The Ilikai Marina is more of a residential style building and was built around the 1970s. This particular unit is relatively upgraded and the building is well-maintained but as most buildings in Waikiki, it does not feel new. Personally, coming from Chicago, I noticed buildings in Waikiki felt older as well but I was enamored by NATURE itself -- the weather, the beach, and surroundings. • Juliet-style Lanai (Two people can stand and get some fresh air but it's not large enough to sit and lounge) • The building does routine AC maintenance, plumbing (water shut down) and pest control and you'll see notices in the elevator, we will try to remind you too. • There's no dishwasher in this unit (kind of common in Hawaii, weird for a Chicagoan). • Plumbing seems sensitive in the building. We do our best to check but I find that the drains are tricky. • Noise: This unit is on the 16th floor so it's quite high from the street but it is facing Ala Moana Blvd which has traffic and alot of cars. So you may not hear noise but you may, if you're sensitive. • In Hawaii's tropical paradise, you might encounter a bug or two in any property. It is rare for us due to our continuous proactive efforts to maintain pest-free units but it can still happen.
