Look past the massive pine trees towering over your patio and see a peek view of the bay and downtown Monterey. Walk to shops & dining. We are pet friendly, but because of past damage, we can no longer allow cats on the premises. Your space is a private suite occupying the downstairs of a charming Monterey home in the wooded neighborhood of Mar Vista park. Suite includes two walk-in closets, and large private bath in a charmingly comfortable living space that was renovated in 2015. Check out is 11 AM. Check in is anytime after 2pm. Please don't use the front door. You have private keyless entry through your own door on the lower level (which is around the left (garage side) of the house and under the deck), and you have access to the living room, kitchen, laundry, and deck upstairs. Your dog has free run of the 25,000 square foot wooded yard. If the dog gate is at the stairwell, it is for your convenience only, so please don't let it stop you from coming up to use the kitchen, etc. Parking: Please park on the street in front of the house. Hosts are generally available in person, and always available by phone if you have questions or need help. It is extremely rare to find a large, secluded and quiet wooded property so close to town. This place has the best of both worlds. Seclusion when you need it, and access when you want it. We are on the low side of the hill on the outer end toward Carmel; high enough to have a birds eye, but low enough to be accessible. You are walking and biking distance from shopping and restaurants, and there is Uber, Lyft, and taxi service in Monterey. According to G-maps, Monta Vista Market is about a 10 minute walk down the street, and there's a Whole Foods Market about a 15 minute walk across Munras to Del Monte Center. Also at Del Monte Center is the Lalla Grill, PF Chang's, Chipotle, Pizza My Heart, Starbucks, various other restaurants, and a movie theater. G-maps says downtown Monterey is about a 30 minute walk, but we generally ride bikes, Lyft, or drive there. Cannery Row is another 1.5 miles along the bike path from downtown Monterey. This is a monthly rental because shorter term rentals are illegal in Monterey. If you do have the luxury of staying for more than 30 days, we would love to have you join us! The hosts are dog lovers so we're Fido friendly. Because of past damage caused by cats, and the frequent presence of many dogs however, we do not allow cats. If you are bringing your pets (non-cat pets), arrangements can be made to restrict/gate off the upstairs if you have concerns that your pet will not socialize well with other dogs.
