Enjoy breathtaking views of the ocean and coastline from this 2-bedroom, 2-bath home overlooking Bodega harbor, or from its private hot tub, strategically positioned to catch the sunset. Wood burning stoves hearkens back to its beginnings as a fisherman's cottage, while the chef’s kitchen, custom bathrooms, fast WiFi and smart TV create a modern oasis. Relax in the hot tub, enjoy amazing sunsets, grill, and sleep peacefully next to the sparkling waters of Bodega Bay. Welcome to Water’s Edge, a midcentury home with unobstructed ocean and bay views, which has been thoughtfully updated and outfitted for comfort and relaxation. Enjoy the sunset from the private hot tub or front deck, then socialize while making dinner on the back deck. During the day, use the complimentary towels and chairs when you head to the beach. The first floor has a tiered, open concept layout, with a chef’s kitchen that flows into a dining area and family room. Move upstairs to the second living room to stream your favorite show, play a board game or enjoy a book from the house library. There are two spacious bedrooms on the second floor, with a tiered layout that ensures beautiful water views and maximum privacy. Walk up the private staircase to a large master suite with king bed, private balcony and large, walk-in shower with handcrafted subway tile. The house has high speed WiFi perfect for streaming shows or a quick video call. To ward off chilly nights, there are space heaters, or you can enjoy the crackle of a fire in one of two wood stoves. The house is perfect for couples, but is also outfitted for families, larger gatherings and with children in mind. Games, toys, children's dinnerware, and even a table set are there to make even youngest guests feel welcome. There is a sofa bed in both living rooms, and a futon couch tucked under the stairs for larger groups. South of the house is a nature preserve. When you wake up, it is not unusual to see deer, quail or herons eating breakfast in the front yard. Your host and co-host love Bodega Bay and helped with the renovations of this home; it is where we go to celebrate, spend time with our children, friends, and family, and find renewal in the breathtaking scenery. We look forward to welcoming you. TOT 4417N You will have access to all areas of the house. The games, towels, linens and kitchen are for you to use; please put things back where you found them so future guests know where to find them. Extra towels and blankets are stored in the dressers and underneath the beds in the front bedroom. An ironing board and iron are kept in the master bedroom closet. We do not live in Bodega Bay, but are available by phone, email and text. If you need to reach us, you can send us a message through Airbnb or call/text us. If something goes wrong at the house, we will arrange to have someone come address the issue. Bodega Bay was once a fishing village. It is still an active harbor, especially during Dungeness crab and salmon season. You will see commercial and recreational fisherman coming and going from the harbor. The town has a golf course with sweeping views of the Pacific. You can arrange a spa treatment at one of the local resorts/hotels. Bodega Bay is a very popular stop on California's iconic Highway 1. The town boasts a variety of great restaurants, shops, and, of course, the beach and hiking trails along the bay and ocean. The house is across the street from the bay. It is not walking distance to a beach, in part because Highway 1 is very busy and does not have sidewalks in many areas. The house is a 5-7 minute drive from several very nice public beaches. There is no public transit in Bodega Bay. Expect to use a car to get most places. The house is across the road from the bay, but is not walking distance to a beach because Highway 1 is very busy and does not have sidewalks. The house does not have central heating. The house has electric space heaters, as well as 2 wood burning stoves. Complimentary fire logs are provided. Please use only fire logs in the stoves. Please do not to leave the heaters on or fire logs burning when you go out. If you use the wood stoves, please clean out the stove once the ashes are cool and put them in the ash bucket. You may park in front of the house on the parking pad, the empty lot across from the house, or on Highway 1, on the right of the road when going Northbound. The parking on Highway 1 is free and just a short walk up the driveway to the house. Please do not park on the grass yard in front of the parking pad. We know many of you travel from far away to spend time on the coast. Please be aware that we usually cannot accommodate a late check-out request because we have professional cleaners and they clean multiple homes in the area. We will do our best to accommodate an early check-in request. If you want an early check-in, please do not ask on the day of, as we don’t want to miss your request.
