Newly constructed, detached one bedroom, one bath casita on shared 3 acres just 10 minutes outside historic Durango, CO. The casita is 30 minutes from Mesa Verde National Park, 45 mins to Purgatory Resort with a slew of summer and fall activities and skiing in the winter, 10 minutes from Lake Nighthorse and the historic Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, and just minutes away from exceptional hiking, fishing, mountain biking. The casita has a queen bed with large flat screen and free wifi. There is one bathroom with a shower and a small porch for you to enjoy the cooler nights and mornings. There is no air conditioning, but the room has an overhead fan and an extra window fan to keep you cool. In the winter, there is a heater to keep you nice and toasty. Extra linens, pillows, and blankets will be in the casita for your use. Please note: there is no kitchen--no refrigerator, microwave, dishes, oven, etc. There is a hot water kettle, 2 mugs, and tea for guests in the casita. Guests are welcome to roam the property as long as they are okay interacting with dogs and kids :) We live right next door, so we are very close if you have a need. We'd love to give you ideas about activities, restaurants, and events to enjoy during your stay. Our family loves going hiking on the Colorado Trail about 30 minutes from our house. The Balcony Bar and Grill is a particularly fun outdoor venue for drinks, eating, and live music. Parking in town is free all weekend and free after 6pm on weekdays; otherwise, bring some change if you plan on spending any time in historic downtown Durango on a weekday. We live next door with our 3 kids and 3 dogs. Our dogs are friendly, but we will keep them out of your way, and our children know to let our guests enjoy a quiet stay.
