The cottage is where I live and teach, it is set back in the yard, a sweet hideaway right in the heart of Hāwī town. You can easily walk to Post Office, Market, Galleries, Shops and Dining. There are hikes, horses, zip line, tours and boat cruises, swim and dive spots 5 - 20 minutes away. 30 minutes to Waimea, or to Hapuna beach. The studio is lined with mirrors, and yoga mats are available. There is a full kitchen, and fruits, vegetables, herbs, and fresh eggs in abundance right here for you! Hāwī is a quaint little town over the rainbow, where the air is pure, and life swings by at a different pace. Surrounded by the beauty of Hawaiʻi and it’s people, stunning views are minutes away. Relax in country comfort right in the hub of Hāwī! You will fall in love with the blue skies and birdsongs, the rainbows and morning rain, and the abundance of the land. If you like to enjoy the outdoors, hike, swim, snorkel with fish and dolphins, dive, visit Hawaiʻi’s top resorts, (Hāpuna beach - one of the #1 beaches in the world, is 30 minutes away), ride horses, eat meals fresh from garden to table, and visit the farmers markets, you will be in heaven! This is a place that is rich in Hawaiian history, and is currently on the cutting edge of sustainability. The Cottage is an old postwar home, built in the traditional style of the time. There are mirrors on all walls, and the “living room” area is actually my pilates studio! There will be a couch and table, etc., for your comfort. There will still be open space for you to do your own yoga practice if you choose to. “Pure Bliss” aromatherapy and wonderful massage therapy is only a few steps away, right next door. There is a queen size bed in the bedroom (36” high), and a full size very comfortable air bed (19” high) available to use in the studio. Airbnb is not very flexible, and it is not possible to show the rates on their site. Basically, the more nights you stay, the lower the nightly rate will be. We will communicate about that. If you stay one night, the rate will be the going rate of about $98/night. If you stay for a month, the rate will drop to about $46 /night. (For up to 3 people.) There will be a security fee charged for any damage to the property, of up to $300. The cleaning fee of $150 is a variable figure, based on a normal amount of cleaning and change of linens and towels, replacement of supplies, laundering fees, etc.. (for a group of 2 - 3 people) and it will be for the turn around of the Cottage. If you are staying for a short overnight stay, and there is minimal cleaning, the change of linens and towels etc., we will refund you the extra amount. If you are staying for a month, there is a lesser charge for a maintenance cleaning once a week. The best thing to do is communicate with me. 14.25% tax fee is by law. Full kitchen, patio, bathroom with shower, carport with couch, table and chairs. Gardens are everywhere. Growing and planning. I will be off island, but I have neighbors who are close by. Call, text, email, and FaceTime me any time, if you need help. (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). This cottage is in Hāwī, in Kohala, not in Waimea. Chickens cross the yard on occasion, and roosters herald the dawn. The morning showers and Kohala breezes are a constant companions. The people of Kohala are friendly and helpful. The water is good to drink right out of the tap, and the air is clean! There is a glimpse of the ocean from the kitchen and bathroom windows, and you are surrounded by coconut, banana, avocado, papaya and macadamia nut trees, and Lilikoi, ʻuala, kalo, kabocha, and many other plants are growing in the gardens. By car, foot, bicycle, and there's a Hele -On bus that will take you to and from Kona or Hilo once a day, and a couple of people who do airport transportation. Sometimes you can make arrangements with them to take you to places like Waipiʻo Valley, Pololu Valley, Mauna Kea, Waimea, and Waikoloa. Your best choice is to rent a car. There is not much in the way of Uber and Lyft up at the northern tip of the island. There are individuals who have cars for rent, besides the regular car rental agencies at the airport - check out Turo. Please remove your shoes before entering to keep the floors clean. The plumbing is a little delicate, so please use toilet paper sparingly, etc..
