The majority of the stones are not uniform in size or shape, and are only roughly dressed.[6] The outside layers were bound together by mortar. Primarily local limestone from the Giza Plateau was used for its construction. Other blocks were imported by boat on the Nile: white limestone from Tura for the casing, and blocks of granite from Aswan, weighing up to 80 tonnes, for the "King's Chamber" structure.[7] The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM; Arabic: المتحف المصرى الكبير al-Matḥaf al-Maṣriyy al-Kabīr), also known as the Giza Museum, is an archaeological museum under construction in Giza, Egypt, about 2 kilometres (1.2 miles) from the Giza pyramid complex. The Museum will host over 100,000 artifacts from ancient Egyptian civilization, including the complete Tutankhamun collection, and many pieces will be displayed for the first time.[4] With 81,000 m2 (872,000 sq ft) of floor space, it will be the world's largest archeological museum.[5] It is being built as part of a new master plan for the Giza Plateau, known as "Giza 2030". Due to some repairs on the road, you must follow the ring road in front of the museum in the direction of Shubr Al-Mariotia, provided that you go down from the first opening after emerging, Mansouriya Street, and you enter the first right from under the bridge, the first North Street in front of the pharmacy of 19011.
