Please do not request to book until after you & I have exchanged messages. This is an UNBEATABLE riverfront location. Read the reviews, everyone loves it here :) But I need to be assured that there will be no loud partying. You won't find a house with a better location or view. You feel like you have a big piece of the river COMPLETELY to yourselves. It's rustic, homey and charming. The River is literally a 1-minute walk from the house. Come relax and enjoy this peaceful escape :- ) This house really does have an AMAZING setting. Peacefully tucked away in the trees, huge deck with 180 view of Russian River and no one to share it with but the occasional canoe paddling by. It's like having a big section of the River all to yourselves when you stay here! This is charming, rustic, cabin-style house is decorated with comfort and relaxation in mind and a few antiques thrown in for good measure. Very Private, as it is at the end of a short private road. You can truly throw a rock into the water from the deck. Direct river access right from the house. There is an unpaved trail in front of my house that lead right to the river's edge. Excellent Wifi. Note: Please kindly do NOT make a Reservation Request until AFTER you and I have communicated a bit. I will not accept it, and it creates some hassles. Thank you! ABOUT THE HOUSE: 2-stories, 1,4000 square feet, redwood trees on either side AND growing up through the deck next to the hot tub (it is SO COOL!) with an amazing view of the Russian River. Fully stocked kitchen. It’s spacious (2 Family Rooms) comfortable and very cozy,. with a lovely wood -burning stove in the downstairs living room. 4 Total Bedrooms. 3 large bedrooms are upstairs. One is HUGE with an additional fireplace - you'll have to draw straws :) 4th bedroom is on the main floor of the house, off the kitchen, with a twin bed and curtains instead of doors. It has a door directly to the downstairs bathroom. Perfect for a person who can't do stairs easily. 2 Full Bathrooms inside, plus a hot water shower on the deck outside. A HUGE DECK between the house and the river has a hot tub, a gas BBQ, and incredible views all around. You'll have three tables and plenty of chairs to relax as you overlook the river! The deck was built around several large redwoods that continue to grow right through, so you truly feel immersed in the beauty of the forest. NEARBY: 2 miles from the Korbel Champagne Cellars and wineries are everywhere. 5 miles East of Guerneville with its fun shops & restaurants. 10 miles West of Santa Rosa,. I will also provide you with a "House Tips" sheet, with more suggested things to do and places to eat in the area. Electronics: Fast Wifi and a brand new (as of May 10) smart TV Heating: There is a fireplace in the master bedroom and wood stove in downstairs living room. I supply firewood for heat in the winter. $225. cleaning fee. Sleeps 8, and I have an 8-person limit. Small children and babies excepted. Please, NO large parties! Note: During the super busy months (July & August) I have a 3-night minimum stay policy if the stay includes a weekend. Or we can work out a higher nightly rate and you can stay fewer nights. 2-night stays are fine between Sunday and Thursday. In September things calm down quite a bit and I can start taking weekend-only bookings again. Please message me and we can see what works best :) The River! A staircase and path right next to the carport take you on a 30-second walk down to the river's edge. There are country roads off the beaten path to hike or ride bikes around in the area. Just don't go onto the down-river neighbor's property or try to access the river that way, which shouldn't be difficult because there's a fence. Washer & dryer are available to guests staying 4 nights or longer. Guests will have the whole area to themselves. I live 75 miles from the property but my caretaker lives 1 minute away, so if there are any questions or issues, he's there to help. His phone number and the housekeeper's number are provided in case anyone has questions and you can't reach me. The housekeeper will leave the door unlocked for you and house keys will be hanging on a hook on the refrigerator. If it's cold, a fire will (very likely) be going or (less likely) built. I LOVE the fact that it's SO peaceful! I advise my guests to bring binoculars to watch the various birds - Great Blue Herons, Egrets, Ospreys, Hawks. Sometimes a River Otter or Turtle that are often seen from the deck. Sometimes a River Otter or seal is seen swimming by. And great BIG fish of some kind - Steelhead? Also, since the house is at the end of a private road, there are no cars driving by my house and the public is not allowed on our road. One thing to note: You will pass a house that belongso my caretaker. It's a "work in progress" as far as clearing out his accumulations, but he's a very nice person and very helpful to my guests when they need local info or a raft inflated :) I suggest that my guests consider him "local color". There is a Sonoma County bus stop about 3/4 of a mile form the house. It runs East to Santa Rosa and West possibly to the coast. But it makes many stops and I don't recommend it as a regular means of transportation. There is room for 3 cars at the property. More cars will cause you to block each other in. Carpool! The path to the River starts at the bottom of the stairs that take you to the lower part of the property. They're right next to the carport. Since there isn't a beach right there, you might want to bring up some folding chairs so you can sit in the shallow water. Also, the first time you come to the house, do your best to arrive before dark, or see to it that at least one member of your party does so they can talk you in if you do arrive after dark. There aren't any streetlights out there and the house can be difficult to find at night. Plus you'll miss the drop-dead gorgeous scenery on the way in, which is quite dramatic. It really is an exciting drive in. It's a narrow road though, so go slowly.
