The Place in Paradise main attractions are the location, fantastic ocean front view, own entrance, and great accommodations. It offers you a peaceful retreat after a long day of exploring the Big Island. An unbelievable 180 degree unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean from the Place in Paradise. Beautiful sunsets can be seen right from the studio. A full kitchen complements a bedroom/living room that has fresh linens and towels. In addition, coffee, banana, and papaya trees on the property. We provide complimentary fruit (seasonal), water, juice and Kona Coffee upon arrival. Guests have their own entrance and there is free Wi-FI. This is the dry side of the Island therefore, it is always sunny and nice at the beach. At night, the house and studio are at an elevation where it is cool. Topical Birds wake you up in the morning and Koke Frogs will put you to sleep at night. A mixture of tropical and horse/cow sounds can be heard throughout the day and sometimes at night. Away from the hustle and bustle of downtown this is a quiet retreat for a couple who like history and like being close to beaches. Tropical beaches are a short drive away. It is in Honaunau, Hawaii and is 35 minutes from the Kona Airport, 20 mins. from Kona and 10 mins. south Captain Cook. Located in a quiet area across from the Painted Church (built and inside artistically painted in the 1800's). 5 famous beaches starting 4 minutes away from the studio : Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park - 4 min., Two-Step Beach at Honaunau Bay(snorkeling, diving) - 4 min., Manini Beach - 14 min., Kealakekua Bay/Beach: (marine sanctuary - snorkeling, kayaking,etc), Ho`okena Beach Park (camping, Kayaking) - 20min. If you want to go to more beaches on the Big Island they are there for your exploration. Being in the heart of coffee country we have the Coffee Shack (famous for all organic breakfast with fresh bread baked daily) plus we have our own local grocery store (Choice Mart) just 10 minutes away. Hawai’i Taxes: Transient Accommodations Tax = 10.5 % + Excise tax = 5.0% + increase in cleaning fees = $10.00. This is calculated in the stay. $79.30 The guest will have their own entrance outside the main house into the studio that is on the second floor. Beach towels, chairs, boggie boards, and snorkel gear are available. A queen bed, numerous bath towels, shampoo, conditioner and soap is provided to the guests. A Dinning table where you can sit and view the marvelous sun-sets, stars, or eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Guest have access to numerous Big Island of Hawaii books on hiking, snorkeling/diving, and adventure books and pamphlets. As well as restaurant and spa areas. In addition, there are a set of binoculars to borrow while whale watching. Flashlights, if needed for hiking, and a cooler to fill with drinks for a day long excursion. Please contact the host if you are disable. This studio can not handle a wheelchair. Earl and I interact with the guest to greet them and, when needed, answer any questions. Otherwise, we leave the guest on their own. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet. The guest will be refreshed in the morning to tackle anything they want to do on the Big Island of Hawaii. The guest's can also rest in the comfort of a Place in Paradise studio. The National Park on the beach is just 5 minutes away by car. The studio is on the second floor. There are two other beach within 6 and 10 minutes away by car. Parking is free and on the premises. The studio is not so close to public transit and we recommend a car.
