A Boarding dog Kennel shares a portion of the property. Barking can be heard 8 am-10am depending on season. It is Best if guests LOVE & understand DOGS. A newly built private 1 bdrm., 1 bath with tiled shower, kitchenette, dinning area and living room will welcome you home after a day of exploring. Amenities include a dry sauna, Koa wood floors, queen bed, air conditioning, ceiling fan, dimmable lights and a private lanai. Convertible sofa (72") and 2 floor mattresses (sheets & pillows provided) for extra guests. Cottage is attached to the main home with 15 foot breeze way and storage area between. Please park in front of the sign. Parking area fits 3 cars. There is a nice nature walk down the side of property to have ocean view. Daily Kennel business hours are 8 am to 12pm. Dogs drop off and pick up by appointment. Dog barking can be heard 8-10 am. Best if guest understand this up front. Hosts are available from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Vacation Tax (13.25%) & GE TAX (4.712%) is INCLUDED in the nightly price total 17.96%. After hours, the hosts can be reached by text. Located on the Big Island's lush and tropical Hamakua Coast, you can visit majestic waterfalls all along the coast. A quick 2.6 miles away is the town of Homomu which hosts Shark's Coffee Shop, Mr. Ed's Bakery and local eateries. Just up the road is Akaka Falls State park, a majestic 440-foot waterfall with a short looped walking trail that will bring to it's base. A short 15-minute drive will bring you to historic Hilo Town with unique restaurants and shopping. Umauma Botanical Gardens and Zipline is a quick 1-mile jaunt away to test your adventurous nature. The Hawaii volcanoes national Park is a one hour drive and the famous Hapuna beach is 75 minutes from the cottage. We are .7 mile from the nearest Hele-on Bus stop. Public transportation is limited but available. 20 minutes from the Hilo airport. The estate is .7 miles up Chin Chuck Road, off of Highway 19. Highway 19 circles the entire island. A Boarding Kennel for dogs share a portion of the property. Dog barking 8am -10 am during feeding, occasional litters of puppies 2-3 times a year may be heard. Cottage is insulated for sound reduction. Air conditioner and Ear plugs are provided to muffle the sound if needed. Dogs maybe added as an extra guest but must reside in the boarding kennel. $25 per pet per night **consult me directly. Coqui frogs may be heard at night.
