Silver Mountain Ski Resort is located directly South on the same mountain! You can ride the Gondola from Kellogg which is a 5 minute drive from the cabin. * *Although we plow the driveway, 4 wheel drive is highly recommended from December to March. While the cabin has most of the amenities of home, you are surrounded by trees and privacy and nature. It includes an outdoor BBQ, and fire pit with wood provided. (exception to high fire danger). It includes 2 lofts with a full size bed and a twin bed and a full size futon that can also sleep up to 2 people. It is your own "tiny home" away from home! We also welcome any "tent campers" and have plenty of outdoor space to make yourself comfortable. We charge a $5 per tent fee. Come enjoy nature while feeling the securities of home. Alhambra Retreat is the perfect place to unplug from the every day hustle and bustle and just enjoy peace and quiet. While our cabin is close to town, it is in a mountainous setting and includes a gravel road up to the cabin. If you are looking for something in town or don't enjoy nature, this is probably not the place for you. While we welcome all guests, we want them to be comfortable and enjoy their stay. This is a place to get away from all the craziness of life and relax and enjoy what nature has to offer! We have a TV with a DVD player, but no satellite or cable TV, as the point of the retreat is to try and unplug:-) *We charge a $10 non-refundable pet fee per pet that must be paid before you depart. We can only accept cash or check for the fee and unfortunately cannot accept the fee through Airbnb. It must be paid on arrival or before you check out of the site. Since we only charge a $20 cleaning fee at this time, we are only asking for a small pet fee to help with the extra cleaning up. And we ask that you be respectful to other guests that may be allergic to animals, and not allow any pets on the furniture and be sure to clean up any dog hair and doo doo before you leave. While the actual site is approximately 1000 square feet, all 15 acres is there for your use. Feel free to walk among the trees and trails. You may see turkey, elk, deer, and moose! As your hosts, we will be available at any time should you need any assistance or recommendations for things to do in the area. We live close to the site and are available most of the time for any help you may need, but will also not intrude on your privacy! It is self check in, so we will most likely not see you when you arrive, unless something is arranged ahead of time. Please let us know right away if you have any concerns/issues or if we can be of any help! Our priority is to make sure you are 100% comfortable and most importantly, enjoy your stay to the max. Some of the most famous things to do in the Silver Valley include the Hiawatha Trail, Rails of Trails, Silver Mountain Ski Resort and gondola ride, and mountain biking trails along with a 9 hole beautiful golf course in the summer and tubing in the winter, historic city of Wallace including the Center of the Universe and zip lining, atv trails, and the famous Sierra Silver Mine Tour. Lookout ski mountain is also only 20 minute drive from our site. Alhambra Retreat is far enough away to feel secluded, but close enough to enjoy all the activities the Silver Valley has to offer! It is a mere 5 minute drive to the city of Kellogg where you will find restaurants, gas stations, and shopping. It is also only 11 miles from the famous mining town of Wallace where you can stand in the center of the universe!! The Silver Express offers their free bus service to get around as well. For winter months, 4x4 ONLY. We get quite a bit of snow and it is a mountain road. The faucet water in the cabin is NON DRINKABLE. So please do not drink from any of the faucets. We do provide some drinking water, but ask that guests also bring some of their own as we never know how much guests will need. Also, check in times are very flexible. If there are guests leaving and arriving on the same day, it may be a later check in, as my husband and I both work full time on top of running our rentals. Depending on the day of the week, it may be ready for check in at 1:00 or not until 5:00. I will communicate with you prior to arrival to determine the check in time. If guests are arriving the day you leave, we have a strict check out time of 11:00, so please be respectful of this for the next guests!
