Concan and the spring fed Frio River has been a favorite destination for many families since 1926. Also, it is the perfect place to be in the Spring as birders travel from all over the country to see rare bird species. All guests have access to the spring fed Concan Swimming Hole although "Floating the Frio" has not been good for several years because of the drought. Pray for rain. The land and river are thirsty. Cabin 62A accommodates 10 people. Max # people 12 but no extra beds. Max # cars 4 - Open living room and kitchen. - Refrigerator, stove with oven, microwave, coffee maker and Kuerig - Kitchenware includes pots, pans, utensils, dishes and silverware. - Includes initial supply of trash sacks, toilet paper and little bar soaps. - Bedroom 1 queen access to half-bath. - Two bedrooms with 2 full beds with access to the bathroom with tub/shower. - Linen can be provided for one-time fee of $10 per bed. - Bath towels can be provided for a one-time fee of $10. - Central AC unit. - Smart Roku TV. - Wi-fi available. - Charcoal BBQ pit, fire pit and picnic table. - Smoking is permitted outdoors only. - Fireplace, wood not provided. - All guests and cars must be registered. - A general waiver is required. - Guests have access to the river area below the cabin as well as the Concan Swimming Hole. - Wristbands and car tags will be provided for access for both areas. Garner State Park – Nightly dances, hiking, make reservations. 7. Texas Hill Country River Region – Daily/ Monthly activities. 8. Tube Rentals and Shuttles - Available nearby – need rain. 9. Concan Pies – Located by Minit’s General Store on Hwy 83. - A waiver to access to the "Concan Swimming Hole" is to be signed. CHECK WEBSITES FOR DETAILS ABOUT THE FOLLOWING: Neal's Dining Room (NEAL'S FAMILY OWNED) is open on weekends and some weekdays depending upon birding groups. Beginning Memorial Day Weekend, they will serve food seven days a week. Frio's Dry Fifty (NEAL'S FAMILY OWNED) offers t-shirts as well as many other wonderful items and will be open on weekends until Memorial Day Weekend at which time they will be open seven days a week. . Garner Park is approximately 9 miles away. Reservations are required for entrance. Jo Jimmy's offers karaoke and live music during the summer months. Frio Valley Ranch (the Club at Concan) welcomes golfers. House Pasture Restaurant also has live music. Churches in the area include: Concan Baptist Mission, Concan Church of Christ and Reagan Wells Baptist Church Hymn singing on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm May, June, July and August. TUBES AND SHUTTLES 1. Tube rentals and shuttles are available at different outfitters in the area. 2. Listen to their instructions before you try floating the river on your own. 3. The river does NOT flow in a circle, so no one will be where you get in to pick you up when you get out! 4. Make sure you (and those who are going to pick you up) know where you are getting in and out and how long it will take to reach the next public exit. 5. Do not get out of the river at any point except public exits or where you have access thru your cabin or home rental. 6. The "First Crossing" of the Frio River is at the end of the "Concan Swimming Hole" property and is the LAST PUBLIC EXIT. 7. If you keep going, you will end up having to walk back upstream because there are no public exits -- only private property. Trespassing rules apply. Pets are allowed - $30 pet fee. The 4% Community Fee is the 4% local hotel tax that Airbnb does not collect.
