KO'kubo Hut remained safe during Typhoon Mawar and now has power, water, internet. This private hut built around a mango tree that protected the hut during typhoon. Let the cool fresh air take you to dreamland when you open the windows of the modern bedroom - or turn on the aircon and enjoy the comfort of modern living! Relax on the bamboo bench by the lounge area, and enjoy low-hanging mango, avocado or soursop ready to pick! The owner Kazz Okubo donates income to foster children charity. The hut is under and around a mango tree where the trunk is part of the hut - a truly unique design with a modern and comfortable sleeping area, yet local feel all around. You can access a modern mini-kitchen and toilet and shower that are shared with guests, and separate from the owner's space. Only registered guests can use these spaces. The backyard with trees is ideal for BBQ, or for children to play and run around. There are no pets around that will bother your kids. The owner Kazz and his grandparents Aida and Jun are co-hosts and live in the same property in their own home and are always available to help. The neighborhood is a very quiet, safe, and accessible residential area, away from the noise of the city, but very close to fast foods, malls, sightseeing area just 7-10 mins by car. There are also two mom and pop stores and a laundry mat within walking distance. We are very near Micronesia Mall, Two Lover's Point, Dededo Flea Market, KFC, Winchells, Jamaican Grill, Taco Bell, and many other restaurants and cafes. Street parking in front of the property is free, safe, and well-lighted. There is very little public transportation in Guam. StrollGuam (like Uber) is the the cheaper option over taxi. The owner can drop you off to the nearest shuttle bus that can take you to the malls and sightseeing places. Shuttle buses are $4 one way.
