The town of Highlands is a short 10-minute drive away for first-class restaurants and shopping. This home consists of two attached cabins. The "old" cabin has two bedrooms and two baths, eating area and a pull-out sofa and three porches. The "new" cabin is a large, open and light-filled living room with big-screen TV, two twin day beds and a loft with an additional two twin beds, as well as a spacious bathroom and laundry area. Please note that there is no cable TV. I provide Netflix and both TV’s are “smart” so you should be able to load in your own streaming services. Be sure to erase your account information before departing. The TV in the old cabin has a DVD player and there are many DVDs for your viewing pleasure. I am available by phone to help with any questions or concerns, however, I do not live in Highlands. Turn off the paved road onto a private gravel road which leads to a handful of homes and leave your stress behind. The home is hidden below the road surrounded by wildflowers and above Big Creek, which is perfect for splashing and fishing (catch and release only, please--we like our aquatic friends). Highlands is known for its waterfalls, fantastic hikes and some of the best fly fishing in the Southeast, a naturalist's paradise. We have trail books and nature guide books available for your use. There are plenty of toys, games and DVDs for you and your children. Make use of the canoe or kayak in the garage.
