The studio is a 10 min walk to Swamis Beach, a surf and sunbathing destination. The Studio sports a full kitchen, full size washer and dryer, Wi-Fi, Roku television, queen sized bed. Its quiet and off the main street. The apartment is 450 sq feet in area with a semi-private lawn and gardens. It is located off the street and is very quite. We are located in the Composer district of Cardiff where each home is unique and prized. You will have off street parking for one car but additional parking spaces can be arranged. The gardens are Japanese inspired with whimsical Harry Potter inspired accents. Hugh is available to help you with your needs during your stay. You can contact him for repair and maintenance issues, where to shop and dine, as well as the fun local hang outs and which to avoid. The Cardiff Composer district is an older more established collection of individually developed homes. As such they each have their individual flair and walking thru the area can prove quite entertaining. You will also be within a 7 to 10 min. walk to Swamis Beach one of San Diego's Iconic beaches. Please expect Hippies, Surfers, Slack rope walkers and Drum circles to be included with your breathtaking cliff top views of the Pacific ocean. If you are prone to driving a motor vehicle we are located between Interstate 5 freeway and the Pacific coast highway, south of Santa Fe Drive exit. If you partake of public transit we are host to the Coaster at Encinitas Station. This is without doubt the most convenient and scenic ways to enjoy your stay in San Diego. It will take you to the north to Carlsbad and Oceanside stations and to the south all the way to Union station and down town San Diego, from there the trolley can take you almost any place in San Diego. Walking in Cardiff is my preference but it is a town of hills there is 135 ft elevation change from the cottage to the beach, great cardio if you ask me. Bicycles are also a great way to go if you are an avid cyclists we have many great stretches of scenic ocean view rides if on the other hand you are more a beach cruiser we got you cover there too. During the COVID-19 pandemic we ask that you respect us and others in our neighborhood by maintaining social distance and wearing a mask while in shared or public spaces. California is a water conserving and energy efficient state. When you are out during the day please remember to turn off the air conditioner. The studio is energy efficient with all LED lighting and a demand hot water heater. The city of Encinitas tightly regulates short term rental units, public nuisance, drunkenness and disturbance of the peace will not be tolerated. The refrigerator can be placed on a timer, to turn off at 11:00 pm and back on again at 7:00 am. I did this because the sound of the refrigerator compressor going on and off all night keeps some guests up at night. If you’d like it on a timer let me know and I’ll set it up for you. Your refrigerator goods will be perfectly safe should you choose to have it on the timer. Also if you will be out late at night leave the outside lights on (they are LED and use only a little energy). The switch is beside the sliding glass door. Locking and unlocking the french door can be done with a gentle pull on the knob as you lock and unlock the door (it likes to pinch a bit). Finally I placed a magnetic cloth cover over the oven clock and a hook for the pot holder you can hang over the microwave clock to block out the light at night. This also keeps me up at night.
