An old restored silk factory near Mount Sannine
Perched on a hill overlooking the picturesque village of Kfar Aqab, the former silk farm sits on a garden where flat terraces contrast with paths meandering through rocks and oaks. The landmark of the area is without a doubt the Jabal Sannine, which affirms its presence firmly in the local landscape. The proximity of trails marked by the LMT (Lebanese Mountain Trek) will entice the more energetic types, while those keen to relax will surely take a short drive to the restaurants hanging over the cliff above Baskinta and its valley, which offer breathtaking sight of the region. Want to stay home ? At a walking distance, a grocery shop in the center of Kfar Aqab offers staples, mana’ich and lakhme bi ajin, to those unwilling to make the 10 minute drive to Baskinta. The house has been fully restored a few years ago, in an unpretentious, cosy approach, respectful of the building’s original main structure. The ground floor consists of a dining & living area with a fireplace, a kitchen and a bathroom. A contemporary styled staircase leads to a mezzanine, two bedrooms (one with a queen size bed and one with two single beds) and a bathroom. Both bathrooms are fitted with a shower. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge and a dishwasher. The living area has a TV set with a DVD player, and the Wifi is available from the inside of the house and a part of the garden.
