Very comfortable stay for 2. The location is in the heart of Bangkok and is within walking distance to BTS & Chao Praya River. If you are interested in booking this room but find it full check out my other listing which is basically the identical room in the same condo building, different floor. It also has an amazing reviews Guests have full access to the facilities of the condo, including a 5th floor swimming pool. The building does have reliable security with gated access to the buildings and key card access for entry past the lobby. A minimart is available on the ground floor open (phone number hidden) offering snacks, drinks, pop, beer, and goods usually found at corner marts. A 7-11 is available within a 50m walk and is open 24hrs. My parents, local Thai residents, live a few blocks away and will in most cases, provide the key and card necessary for access to the condo. As well, they are more than willing to help out with little stuff like initial orientation, taxis, advice on local food and transportation as well as any special needs you might have. They don't speak perfect English, but we have never had issues communicating properly with guests. Any major concerns, problems or travel advise within Bangkok can be emailed to me with local help possibly coordinated through my parents if necessary. The neighborhood is awesome. The condo is located just meters from a major historic road which links to Silom Road, Sathorn, and Chinatown as well as the Grand Palace. It is a 400 meter walk to the majestic Chao Phraya river, with a nearby pier offering express boat service, every 20 minutes from 6:00am to 7:30pm to the Grand Palace, Wat Arun area. This would be a good way to avoid the traffic jams and offers a cool perspective on local Bangkok culture. Asiatique is a Bangkok’s first large-scale riverside community mall combining shopping, dining, sightseeing, activities and events under one roof. The strong cultural aspect is what sets it apart from other shopping malls. There are more than 1,500 boutiques selling ultimate souvenir, fashionable cloths, textiles, accessories and home decor items.With more than 40 restaurants, there are Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Italian and seafood dishes served all night. It is about 10 mins by taxi or you can take a free Shuttle ferry from Sathorn pier at the the nearest BTS station. We have had guest who have walked to Asiatique. It is something that should be on your to see list!! Local food vendors are available within a 25 meter walk of the condo offering Thai dishes, including famous dishes like Tom Yum, Pad Thai, and Papaya Salad as well as local rice and noodle dishes. The BTS skytrain station called Sapan Thaksin operating on the Silom Line, is a 500m walk from the condo. The skytrain does link up with the MRT from the silom line, with both systems offering cheap, reliable, hassle free ways to get to many of Bangkok's major tourist destinations, local entertainment as well as the wealth of restaurants, bars and shopping that the city is famous for. Taxi's are quite plentiful in the neighborhood and are an easy way to get around. Advice on taxi's would be to insist that the meter is always used, and it is best to make sure the driver is clear on his or her destination before departing. Is helpful sometimes to have the destination written in Thai to avoid mis-understandings. Getting to and from the airport is best left to taxi's or airport ground transfer companies. Expect a charge of approximately 400 baht include Toll/Express Way charges, which are not the obligation of the taxi driver. WHY STAY HERE? ********************************************************************** If you're the type of person who enjoys stepping out the the typical tourist traps and wants a home away from home where you can live more like a local, this is for you. So close to many things, you don't have to go far to feel right at home in Bangkok. As well, staying in this condo provides access to real life in a Bangkok neighbourhood. You'll gain insight into life in Bangkok, with locals residents working, eating, drinking, shopping right around you. Much better than staying at a chain hotel set in a tourist area. For reservation consideration please have a profile with 2 verification, your photo and a brief description of yourself. I refused to accept if your profile is empty with just a name. All the reservations need to be made thru Airbnb. It is impossible to allow early access to the place if another guest was staying in the condo the night before. If a potential guest wants guaranteed access to the room earlier than the 2:00 pm check in or check out later than 11 am time they will have to book the night before they arrive or book a night after your departure. Despite the fact that the calendar might show a vacancy the night before you arrive, this could change at any time. If you are making two separate bookings at the room on one trip, we don't have the ability to store your stuff in the room during your absence.
