Amma's house is located just 10 minutes from Keflavik and the airport, 25 minutes from Reykjavik, and only 15 minutes from the Blue Lagoon. Within walking distance is the Viking museum and a walking path that over looks the ocean. During the winter, it is possible to see the northern lights from the house. Located directly behind the house is a schoolyard which children can play on. Within walking distance is a local Icelandic shopette which serves the famous Icelandic hot dogs. Amma's house is a traditional Icelandic home with modern amenities. There are 3 bedrooms (2 queens, and one single). There is a living room and sitting room, each with sofas/couches which could, if needed, offer additional sleeping spaces. In addition, there is a fully furnished kitchen, kitchenette, dining room, laundry and wash room, and mud room. At the rear of the house is a large fenced in patio. There is newly renovated one and a half bath on site. The bathtub is a large tiled soaking tub, perfect for relaxing in after a long day of adventures. The tile flooring of the bathroom is heated. Guest will have full access of the entire home, which is designed to make your stay as comfortable, affordable, and relaxing as possible. On site guests can expect: -WIFI -a washer and dryer -strove, refrigerator, dish washer, & microwave -fully supplied kitchen (coffee maker, dishware, pots, pans etc.) -bathtub -shower -towels -sheets and bedding -flat-screen tv (with DVD player and select movies) -ample parking I give my guests space, but I am available when needed. I am born and raised Icelandic, but I can speak English and can provide great insight on tourist destinations, Icelandic cuisine, traditions, and folklore. Amma means Grandmother.
