You are invited to share our vacation property--a private little cottage nestled in the pines in Milbridge, Maine. This cottage sits on tidal oceanfront. It is the perfect place to come home to after day trips to Machias, Acadia, or Ellsworth. Relax and unwind in this little escape haven. The quaint town of Milbridge offers a grocery store, laundry, and restaurants for you convenience. There is a full kitchen and full bath for your convenience. Of course, bring your bbq items as there is also a grill and picnic table to enjoy the sea air. Because of its private location, there is no wifi available. We do get cellphone reception. In the hopes that you enjoy the beauty of the Maine downeast instead, there is not a tv in the cottage. The cottage boasts 1 bedroom with a new king size bed and a full size futon in the open kitchen/living area. This cottage sleeps 3 or possibly 2 adults and 2 small children. Well behaved pets are allowed if they are picked up after. Down a long private driveway, you'll find a sunny yard and the quaint cottage. There is a pathway down to the tidal waters. We live a few hours away, but are available via phone or text! Be sure to check out Milbridge's McClellan Park for dramatic shoreline photo opportunities. It is a short bike ride or a leisurely walk from the cottage. Daytrips to check out include the Downeast Sunrise Trail, Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge Hiking Trails, and Schoodic Point. Bring your camera! Check out the blueberry picking at the Petit Manan Refuge. Milbridge is a quaint fishing community with working wharfs and local lobster pounds for the freshest seafood. There is great biking and hiking, but you will need a car to get around due to the cottage's private location. Be aware nights can get chilly on the coast, even in the summer. Also, be prepared for mosquitos. We grow them big and thirsty up here! In Downeast Maine, we have tidal frontage. This is not the sandy waterfront beaches like in Southern Maine. Because the tidal change is so drastic, during low tide our bay is just mud. If you get a vacationer's permit, you xen dig for clams!
