The atmosphere of my residential neighborhood, Palisades, is similar to that of the Big Island: calm with beautiful, natural scenery. You'll definitely sense that from the moment you wake up in this Ohana and feel the warm sun rays shimmering through the many windows in the rooms. At dawn, you can rewind and watch the sun set sitting on the gorgeous hanging chairs on the patio. The Big Island doesn't offer public transportation, so if you'd like to travel throughout the entire Big Island, I recommend setting up car arrangement prior to your visit to my Ohana. If you're renting a car, you can definitely park it on my spacious driveway (wide enough for bigger SUVs). It's a perfect location, extremely close to the airport, within 10-15 minutes of COSTCO, shopping, beaches, beach parks, historic sites, resorts, and all that Kona has to offer. Big island is the perfect place to experience the aloha spirit, mint new lifetime memories, experience different black sand beaches, step foot on the Green Sand Beach, explore Mauna Kea (the world highest mountain from the bottom of the ocean), and enjoy the incredible sunsets. Also, if lucky enough, you might able to experience snow in paradise during the winter months! **Uninvited friends AKA BUGS: Hawaii is a warm tropical island, which is a perfect living environment for insects and bugs. Even with regular scheduled treatment and prevention, these unfriendly creatures still seem randomly. As a precautionary measure, please keep all food sealed or placed in the refrigerator and empty the trash daily. Upon REQUEST, we can provide additional spraying. Insects are unavoidable, and they are part of our ecosystem. We apologize for the inconvenience in advance.
