A brand new 3-bedroom house only 4 minutes WALK from the airport and a 5- 7 minute drive to town. There are buses (at your doorsteps) to take you anywhere in Port Vila for only 150VT. Free breakfast is provided and basic food supplies are provided and a kitchen to cook in. Pick organic herbs /spices from the garden to spice up your menu. There is Free WiFi, hot water, a washing machine, great hospitality, and ALL that you need to make Janessa's Dwellery your second home in Vanuatu! It’s location, being a walking distance away from both the domestic and international airports you can easily access the following facilities: banks, western union, eatery, shops, ATM machines, telephone outlets and taxis from the taxi stand. Guests have the entire house and the huge front yard to themselves. The host can pick you up from the airport if you are arriving on a night flight and can drop you off in the morning at the airport if you are catching an early flight. The host will provide her contact when you arrive so she can be contacted at any time you need any assistance. Bladiniere Estate is a new and growing residential area in Port Vila. This site used to be a coconut plantation owned by a European ( I think she is from Holland) during colonial rule. The estate hosts mainly workers from government offices/departments and a few from the private sector so is a very safe place to live in. The yards of homes in this area are spacious compared to other residential areas in Port Vila so overcrowding is not a problem. It is generally a very quiet neighborhood, except of course festive sessions (the week leading to the 30th of July for the independence anniversary celebrations; Christmas and New Year festive sessions). The people you meet in this neighborhood are very friendly. You can smile at them and talk to them. If you want to try the 'Vanuatu kava', there are 'nakamals' nearby you can go to experience this exotic drink. Janessa’s Dwellery is located along one of the main roads in Bladiniere Estate so it’s very easy to catch public transport to town or anywhere you want to go in Port Vila. Just stand on the road and hail a public service bus (medium van with a red B written on the number plates) and it will stop to pick you up! Tell the driver where you are going and there you go... the bus drops you where you want to go and you pay only 150VT. Taxis can be very expensive so the best option is using the service buses. Please take note of the following: 1. Potential for noise when planes land or take off as the place is close to the airport. 2. Hot water is provided only for shower. It is a tropical country so water from the taps do not get uncomfortably cold throughout the year.
