You'll love our prime location, right in the heart of Czech Village. Just steps from restaurants, nightlife, shopping, coffee shops and the National Czech and Slovak Museum. Babi's Place is the only unit above a commercial space, with a private, secure entrance. Recently renovated with the most modern amenities while preserving the historic charm of the building. You'll love the eclectic blend of modern decor, with exposed brick, original wood floors and local art. You'll be given a private entry code for a keypad through a secure, private entrance. There are 18 steps to climb. Atop the stairs you'll find a coat closet, a locked maintenance room and the door to the unit. Once inside, you'll enjoy having the entire apartment to yourself, and the privacy of being the only unit in the building. Just push the lock button on the keypad when leaving the unit. I am always available to answer questions via phone or text, day or night. I live and work nearby, so can stop by, should the need arise. Czech Village is a charming, historic neighborhood which has always been home to antique shops, restaurants, a bakery, a meat market and the National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library. In 2008, the area was devastated by a flood. Work began right away to rebuild, and today the Village is thriving, attracting great new businesses and restaurants. In 2019, it was voted Neighborhood on the Rise by a local community contest. It's the place to be! Cedar Rapids has an excellent bus transit system, with a stop just a block away. Cedar Rapids is very bicyclist friendly, and offers miles of paved trails. You can catch the trail right across the street! If you didn't bring your own bike, you can rent one from one of the many Veo Ride share stations all around the city, including Czech Village. The District-which includes the Village and the New Bohemia area across the rive to the east is also very walkable. The retail space below is home to a photography studio. You shouldn’t experience any noise from the shop, and we appreciate the same respect in return. Babis is in the heart of Czech Village, across the street from a micro brewery and next door to a local favorite pub. Both have outdoor patios which may cause some a little noise in the evenings. We’ve only had one guest mention this, but it should be noted. We do provide a white noise machine and complimentary earplugs, just in case.
