About This Listing Is there such a thing as “too close to the beach?” Who knows, but you won’t find out staying at our fantastic beachfront get-a-way nestled just across the street from the beautiful sands of historic Imperial Beach, the last of the small beach towns that made San Diego famous. Our spacious 3BR/3BA condo will deliver the beach to you with floor-to-ceiling patio doors overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the white caps of the waves washing up on shore. About The Space Your will enter from Evergreen Avenue, into a security building that you will be provide a code for! Once you have access to the Condo, the following will be provided to you. 1) ioProx transmitters, which allows to into the underground secure parking! 2) LiftMaster Gate opener, which allows your vehicle in & out access to our underground secure parking! 3) Two keys: One key for the trash bin. The trash bin is located in the very left hand corner of the parking garage & you will need to bring your ioProx transmitters, which will allow you to gain access back into the garage. The other key is for the storage room: This room has, at minimum, 6 beach chairs, 6 boogie boards, sand toys, beach umbrella, beach cart, and ice chest for your use. About The Area Historic Imperial Beach is the last of the small beach towns that made San Diego’s “laid back” lifestyle world-famous. In recent years, the area has undergone a major renaissance and is now fully gentrified. Imperial Beach was named the Best Place to Live in San Diego by San Diego Magazine in March 2017. With red-hot restaurants like Sea 180 Coastal Tavern, El Tapatio, Aroma Thai and Coronado Brewing Company just a short walk away, it’s easy to see why! Soon a Brigantine will be opening up a restaurant on the first floor of the building that will feature an oyster bar! Our location right across the street from the beach and historic “I.B. Pier” is the perfect spot to relax, and get-away-from-it-all or relax during the day, and be a part of it all at night. A small beach park is right across the street from the building and serves as the epicenter of the famous Imperial Beach Sandcastle contest as well as other events, including Ironman competitions and triathlons. If your visit brings you here on a Friday, be sure to catch the Imperial Beach Farmer’s market in this same space that brings together locally grown produce and samplings of the mom-and-pop eateries. In the morning, wake up to fresh pastries and crepes at the trendy Par Amour bakery just across the street and sit al fresco as you watch the pelicans and seagulls scour the beach in their morning routines. Or, if you prefer, feel free to cook breakfast in your private and fully equipped chef’s kitchen with large cooktop, full-size oven and plenty of counter space. Didn’t bring provisions? No worries! There’s a well-stocked convenience store less than 30 steps from the entrance of the secured building. Craving a little something sweet? Then next door to Par Amour is Cow-A-Bunga, a gourmet ice cream shop and just steps away from that, Babycakes, where the cupcakes are delicious! While there, why not plan ahead and pick up a bottle of wine (or something stronger) to watch the sunset from your fully furnished patio. Or step outside, cross the street and walk the length of the legendary, wooden Imperial Beach pier (one of the longest wooden piers on the West Coast) and watch the sun disappear behind the watery horizon. Just a short drive away is also the Tijuana Estuary, a sanctuary for endangered birds and plants that’s free and open to the public Wednesdays through Sundays (except certain holidays). If you’re a nature lover or bird watcher, this is a must-see! Because we’re just 10 minutes south of Downtown San Diego by car or Uber/Lyft, we are a perfect destination for Padres games (or whoever is beating them this week!) and other downtown events and concerts. While there, hang out in the terrific Gaslamp District, the headquarters for San Diego’s nightlife scene. If you want to visit some of San Diego’s history, you can drive slightly West of Downtown San Diego to Coronado, home of the picturesque Hotel Del Coronado, one of the oldest and largest beachfront hotels on the Pacific. We are also just 10 minutes north of the busiest land border in the world, the Tijuana Port of Entry, where you can drive into Mexico and experience amazing culture and food, as Tijuana has become a major player in the international foodie scene. If you’re craving a more authentic Mexican experience, drive 40 minutes south of Tijuana to Puerto Nuevo and eat fresh-caught lobsters on the beach or continue a little further south and walk the shops of beautiful Ensenada. Some other local notes to savor: We are just 20 minutes south of San Diego’s historic “Old Town”, which features shops and some of the best Mexican Food in the country. Shopping on your mind? We are just 25 minutes south of the Fashion Valley Mall, where you’ll find shops by Prada, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Apple, Microsoft, Bose, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus and of course, Nordstrom. Or if value is on your mind, visit the outlet malls at Las Americas, just 10 minutes Southeast and shop Nike, Reebok, Coach, and many others name-brand stores. We are just 20 minutes south of San Diego’s International Airport. We are just 15 minutes away from the world famous San Diego Zoo, which is surrounded by beautiful Balboa Park, which is home to many area museums. Getting Around While there is public transportation just outside the building (MTS Routes 903 and 904) and lots of Uber and Lyft options in the neighborhood, there is also a private, secure parking spot just for you inside the building.
