Owl's House is a spacious 2-story home designed by Kim-Alice Interiors with over 1,200 SF to stretch out and enjoy, plus outside areas like a private deck and garden, a firepit area, and trails to explore in over 60 acres of woods. Tastefully decorated to create a modern ranch vibe yet relaxed and comfortable. A full kitchen includes cooking oils, spices, coffee, and tea. Available to purchase at the farm: the best darn eggs you've ever tasted. From time to time we also carry beef raised here on the farm. Late weekend checkout can be requested in advance, and if available, we are happy to accommodate. An amenities closet offers: blankets to cozy up by the fire, picnic bag, and lawn games like bocce ball, corn hole, and horseshoes. Request s'mores sticks, picnic blanket, beach towels & umbrella, and beach chairs. The living area features a 9' leather couch, a bar area, and a range of board games. The treetop setting of the master bedroom offers stunning panoramic views, sunrises and sunsets, a Casper king bed and pillows, soft cotton sheets, and cozy comforter. A 55" smart TV comes with complimentary Amazon Prime viewing (5 seasons of Yellowstone) & Netflix and the ability to log in to other streaming apps. The second bedroom features a Casper queen-size bed and pillows, a 40" TV, Xbox One, and a twin daybed (upon request and at an extra charge). The bathroom is fully updated with a walk-in shower, Watermark rainshower head, soft plush towels, aromatic bath amenities, a ceramic blow dryer, and a lighted mirror. Your accommodations include a private 2-bedroom, 1-bath guest house with a living room, full kitchen, private deck, private garden, and dedicated firepit area, and an array of amenities. Guests staying at Owl's House have access to the wooded area (60 acres) and can wander around the farm and visit with the animals. Follow the instructions provided at check-in and under our house rules for interacting with the animals. The accommodations are for guests staying at the house only. No outside guests without special permission. We do allow events and gatherings, but those would require a site permit, fee, and liability policy. We can host gatherings of up to 50 people. Inquire with the host if you are interested in booking your event at the farm. We live on the property, but the guest house faces away from the main house so it's fully private with its own deck, garden, firepit and two entrances to the private deck. It does face two distant neighbors but trees and curtains provide privacy. We like to greet our guests when possible just to provide some info specific to the farm, animals, and enhance the guest experience. We love our own space and appreciate that guests love theirs. We will never enter the guest house or deck area without permission. Guests are welcome to visit animals at their leisure, please see the house rules for some general guidelines. We don’t offer horseback riding on the property but we have partnered with a local ranch that does day trips to Arcadia park; a beautiful 2,000 acre preserve. We are available 24-7 for emergencies and otherwise from 7 am to 10 pm for questions or requests. Countryside living at its best. The area offers a range of seasonal and holiday activities including Vineyards, cider mills, antiquing, U-pick it farms, markets, dining, sailing, museum-going, Beach and strolls in surrounding town centers like Mystic, East Lyme, Essex, and Westerly. In evenings sit by the firepit to toast marshmallows and catch some fireflies or head out to enjoy the nightlife which includes some of the finest dining around plus, Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casino are just minutes away, featuring premier concerts, indoor carting, bowling, ice-skating, arcade and Golfing or jump on the brewery trail and sample brews throughout the area. NW Corner Rd is curvy so slow is best but enjoy the historic old homes, the areas namesake rock walls and the neighborhood farm stands. 1-hr from Bradley-Hartford International airport, 1.5-hrs from Boston-Logan and 40-min to Providence airport. All major highways are close enough but far enough to make your stay feel like a real retreat. New London 35-min to Ferries and Amtrak to NYC.
