Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Enjoy nature from the rocking chairs on the front porch or back patio. Take a hike through the 6 acres or along the creek. Swim in the seasonal pool or enjoy the fire pit and small goldfish pond. There are two queen bedrooms, each with full bath, separated by a common living area where a sofa bed is also available. A small camping cot can also be set up if needed. Make use of the kitchen, dining area, board game/ DVD/library and laundry room. Bear Paw Splash is a small farm cabin built in the late 40s nestled in a secluded holler on 6 acres. Now restored, it still possesses its mid century mountain charm. A small stream flows gently by the side of the cabin, with many places to play in the water or just sit and listen to the splashes of water trickling down the mountain. A wide open front yard with a fire pit beside the goldfish pond provides a wonderful space for most any outdoor activity. The back yard has a patio off the small back porch, and uphill you will find the outdoor pool (open from April til October). It is private for our guests. Within the 6 acres, there are several paths to explore, where you will find native, unusual plants often visited by deer, wild turkey, and yes, bears. The cabin has an old fashioned full front porch to sit and rock and enjoy a hot cup of coffee. Entering the front door, you are greeted with the great room with its fireplace, coffee station, and cozy furniture, making it a great space to sit and enjoy each other's company. There are 2 bedrooms, one on either side of the great room; each offering a queen size bed and an adjoining bathroom. In the rear is the newly renovated kitchen with a dining area . Also off of the rear of the cabin is a reading /DVD viewing room. You may decide to play board games there, too. Just through the reading room is a large utility room for doing laundry or perhaps setting up a cot for an extra guest. Bear Paw Splash is in a very natural setting, with no visual neighbors, very secluded, and a wonderful place to get away and relax in the Smokies. Located 2 miles to Gatlinburg Glades arts and craft area, 7 miles to downtown Gatlinburg. In the opposite direction, 7 miles to Dollywood, 8 miles to downtown/parkway of Pigeon Forge. This cabin does have internet. However, it is slow and limited. If you need high speed (streaming quality) internet, we cannot provide that for you as there are no current providers other than Hughes Net, which we do provide. We are available for questions by phone or text or messaging through this website. We ask that on stays longer than 4 days, you allow us to pick up trash mid-stay. Also, in warmer months, expect a pool service technician to visit mid-stay. Wooded, secluded and quiet with neighbors being at quite a distance. A certified National and TN Wildlife Habitat, you may see a variety of wildlife. 2 wheel drive vehicles do just fine: just drive very slow and steady, don't stop and start going up driveway; larger (cargo, long 25' plus) will have challenges The Pool is open from April 1st to mid October . We maintain it at 82-84 degrees heated.
