Bel Air retreat in a lush garden
Nestled in a lovely garden of about 2000m², stands a 3 bedroom retreat, onlooking magnificent views on the mountain, hills and sugar cane fields. Equipped with a covered patio, you would want to sit there and have breakfast in the early morning within the chants of the tropical birds. At night, away from the dense region, you shall be blanketed by the stars as you sip green tea and digest eventful days lived on the island. Inside the house, there is a King size bed in the master en-suite, an American style kitchen, 2 other rooms and a living room all glazed towards the mountainous view. Out of the house, the closest, and one of the most typical white sand, blue seas beach in Mauritius, Blue bay (it’s name is a giveaway, really) is at an 8-minute drive from the house. We would go there in the morning, swim our life out and just sleep on lukewarm sands. We would also go late in the evenings to watch the sunset, do some stretching and yoga. The neighborhood has the typical Mauritian, small village life feeling to it, where next door you'll find a fruit salad vendor and the friendly locals around taking life one day at a time. Mahebourg, one of the most historically rich coastal town stands at 1.8 Km from the house and apart from the popular waterfront, there is blue bay, which is an absolute feast to both swimmers and divers alike. There is Point D’esny which you could bike towards and is the longest stretch of white sand and preserved lagoon in Mauritius. Food lovers will be relished as Mahebourg sports one of the most famous market on the island where you’ll want to taste all the authentic Mauritian dishes and street food. And talking about food, you shall be provided with the basic foodstuffs such as oil, eggs, milk and butter ect. Everywhere, the entire house and the big garden will be entirely for you. I will be at work but at a phone call away and either I or my brother will provide you with any assistance you may need. I or my brother can pick you up the airport and drop you at the house for free if we are not at work at the time you're arriving. Just ask me, and I'll be most happy if we can work something out! However, the best way to travel in Mauritius is you hiring a car. It is a small country and with a car you get the flexibility and independence to go just about everywhere on the island! The touristy (for a lack of a better word) spots stand scattered all around the island and whether you are just by the beach on in the center, a car is a must! So ask me about your options!t And of course, if you really want the authentic Mauritian feel, there is the bus stop just next to the house where you go to Mahebourg and then to anywhere else you want on the island, which is a very cheap way to travel here. (1.50 Euro will get you from the south of the country to the north and you pay as you go) However, there no bus lanes in Mauritius, as such, it requires a bit of patience. I have checkout set at 11am. This is only when I have other guests coming in on the day you are leaving, so we get some time to clean the house etc. Otherwise it's flexible.
