COME SUPPORT MAUI! WE NEED YOU! WE ARE HEARTBROKEN THAT THE HISTORIC TOWN OF LAHAINA IS GONE. WE KNOW, WE WERE THERE STAYING IN OLD LAHAINA THAT TERRIBLE DAY. My place is directly on the ocean with wonderful air conditioning. We pay attention to detail so the unit is fully equipped. There are family-friendly activities, amazing restaurants, bars & nightlife. Short walk to the supermarket or restaurants. Mahana 505 is very private for honeymooners. Bedrooms: 1 Bedroom, Sleeps 4, Beds for 4 Master bedroom has a brand new comfortable California king bed with full bath: You will be lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves. Our pull out sofa is extremely comfortable complete with ocean sounds. Since this is a two full bathroom condo the sofa sleeper has a private full bath at night just like the master bedroom with its private bathroom; both are extremely comfortable with Smart TV's to watch Netflix, U tube, or HBO or use the blue tooth function to pair your own smart device to stream music etc.... Life is just better on the beach of Maui, Hawaii The address for Mahana 505 is 110 Kaanapali Shores Place, Lahaina, Maui HI. Maps can give you an excellent aerial view of the area. The unit has a full kitchen and we do our best to keep it stocked. It has several bowls, pots and 3 frying pans plus cutlery and utensils along with bottle openers, can openers, potato masher etc. There is a coffee pot, coffee grinder, blender, toaster, electric can opener. Also aluminum foil and plastic wrap and food storage containers. We added a ice chest, cart and cooler bags for trips to the beach or grocery store. The unit has a washer/dryer, vacuum cleaner, broom, and a dustpan. The following is supplied - 4 microfiber beach towels, 8 bath towels, 8 hand towels, 8 wash clothes, bath mats, dish clothes, dish towels and two pot holders. Bed and couch are made up. Also supplied 4 rolls toilet paper, roll of paper towel, tissues, soap, cascade dish pods, Dawn liquid dish soap, tide Pods for washing laundry, spare trash liners, shampoo & conditioner, body soap and hand washing soap. There are several spare pillows in the closet. There is all types of snorkel gear, including full face masks, in the closet for your use. I suggest you bring your buy sun screen as soon as you arrive. Maui sun is quite intense so beware to sunburns. Amenities include w/ snorkel gear, beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels, ice chests and a cart for your use. We also have pickle ball, and tennis racquets and balls to use on the court. There is Samsung Smart TV 48 inch flat screen in the living room and there is a 32 inch flat screen Smart TV in the bedroom. Please note they are both Samsung Smart TVs so if you have your own Netflix or HBO GO accounts you can view movies if you log onto your own account. Two outdoor teaks easy chairs that can adjust to laying flat or sliding out a foot piece when needed and 2 teak folding chairs out on the lanai. Most of our guests are couples so we tried to set it up for them but give flexibility for the occasional group of 4 or if you have guests over. There is no resort or parking fees. There is no daily cleaning service although extra maid service can be arranged if you want that, but most of our guests do not request it. Please call our on Island contact and cleaning service Karen Kondo if you would like to arrange extra cleaning. Karen Kondo. Her number will be found in the unit. Most of the discount stores are located close to Kahului Airport. Costco at the airport has the cheapest gas and good pricing on groceries if you have a membership. There is a Safeway at the north end of Lahaina (Cannery Mall on the left side of the road driving north) that is open 24 hours and, if you have a Safeway card, can get good pricing on some groceries. Otherwise Times Supermarket is a 7 minute walk from the Mahana and has good pricing on some items. Duke's Restaurant is next door to the Mahana at the Honua Kai and has live music some nights. There is a gate between the Mahana Property and the Honua Kai and that is where a boardwalk starts that runs parallel to the beach past the resorts and timeshares. Code to the gate is provided at check in. Lahaina is about a 5 mile drive south. Check in: You will find a front desk located in the lobby or use the terminal to the right of the front desk. IT IS NOT AN INTERNET TERMINAL; IT IS FOR GUEST CHECK-IN AND AIRLINE BOARDING PASSES ONLY. 1. Enter your last name and the Mahana unit number 505 Select LOGIN Verify arrival and departure dates. 2. Enter your rental car make and license plate number then select continue. 3. Your PARKING PASS, house rules, and beach warning notice will print on the attached printer. 4. Place your PARKING PASS on your dashboard when your car is parked in the Mahana parking lot. I am not your on island contact. That would be Karen Kondo. You will find her number in the unit when you arrive if you have any needs or concerns please contact either one of us. We love snorkeling! The boardwalk just through the south gate towards Duke's Restaurant will take you on a nice walk to Airport Beach or black rock, two close and amazing snorkeling that areas not to mention cliff jumping at Black Rock. My kids love it. Also Honalua bay north of Napili is fantastic to go up and park by the porta potties and walk in through a magnificent rain forest. Or if you like to boogie board try DT Flemming Beach or Slaughterhouse beach above the Kapalua area. You can see a ton of turtles at Honokeana Cove which is right near the Gazebo Restaurant. We love the breakfast and fried rice there. Go early though because of the lines. We feel the wait is worth it and you can snorkel Napili beach from there too. So park in their parking lot, eat then play in the surf at Napili beach or snorkel. The cove is south of the beach and you will find a path through a gate but its fine to go through. You will love that cove. It's protected and amazing. You'll see turtles sleeping on the rocks in the afternoon or just lazing around at the top of the water. Note: when sitting in the sun there try to stay off the lawn (it’s the property of the complex but not the water's edge etc.) Hana is amazing but we don't do it in a day. We like to spend a few days on the other side to get away from the traffic and hike the rain forests, the beaches are amazing and lots of cliff jumping. If you go to Keihei snorkel Ulua beach; people are coming and going all the time so just wait for a parking place to open up if the lot is full on arrival. It has a lot to offer for sea life and beach. As for more food we love sushi. Miso Phat for low key sushi. Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar for a Japanese dinner to remember. NOTE: we didn't like the Miso Phat Sushi place in Keihei but he one in Kapalua is our favorite. Duke’s Beach House restaurant just south of the complex is great for walking to and listening to music with your meal. It's open-air beach theme offers island menus, surfer decor, tiki torches, vistas ans incredible sunsets. Breakfast place we like which is in walking distance is Slappy Cakes. The Gazebo located in Napili though is a must for first time Maui guests. The Combo macadamia, pineapple and banana pancakes with coconut syrup is to die for. If you like burgers try the Cool Cat Cafe in the heart of down town Lahaina it's awesome. Retro 1950s-diner-style cafe known for its burgers plus pulled pork, fish tacos & people-watching. Maui Brewing Company Brewpub serves up its original beers, from pale ale to a coconut porter, plus Hawaiian pub fare. There is a great swap market; Maui Exposition with amazing food and treasures to take home in Kahului on Saturday-mornings with over 200 vendors selling food, crafts & more. Small admission fee; 310 W Kaahumanu Ave, Kahului, HI 96732 There is public transportation just a short walk from our parking lot to take you any where on the island you wish to go. Uber and lift are popular on the island too. We have pickle ball, tennis racquets, snorkel gear, 4 beach chairs, 2 boogie boards, cart, ice chests and spotting scope for your use. My updated kitchen has everything you need for your stay. I love to cook and barbecue. Be sure to grill some steak and lobster on the grill downstairs. There are two barbecue areas; One out the foyer to the right in the garden, the other located to the left at the pool area.
