Escape from it all and watch the sun set as you listen to the soothing ocean waves from the solace and shade of our porch swing. Our charming Blue Ocean Mist Room sleeps up to two with two separate twin beds. Enjoy a getaway at our quaint and quiet family home in the lovely Fort Dick area. We are located only ten minutes from Crescent City and twenty minutes from Brookings, Oregon in a friendly farming community. Peace and tranquility abound on our pleasant 2 acre abode. The Blue Ocean Mist room is decorated in lovely blue and white tones that match the sound of the sea distantly audible. The two beds in this room will accommodate two guests; one bed is an old fashioned iron twin bed and the other is an Ikea twin bed. Our home is inviting and we offer two rooms (listed separately) with comfortable beds, two twins in one and a full in the other. The rooms are comfortable and homey but nothing fancy. You are welcome to spend time feeding or playing with our animals which include chickens, bunnies, goats, and two silly doggies. You are provided limited kitchen access to heat any left over goodies from nearby or in town restaurants or enjoy a cup of tea while sitting on the porch swing of the large shaded front lawn. The bathroom is shared but if you are the only guest, you will have sole access to the bathroom. In the morning, help yourself to a light self-serve breakfast including fresh hardboiled eggs from our chickens, bagels, cereal, and coffee. Take a leisurely stroll through our pasture to see our goats or sit and relax in our gazebo and enjoy the garden and nearby pond. We truly enjoy sharing our home and this beautiful area with you and we hope you will enjoy your stay! We are most often present during your stay. Our living quarters and Ed's office are in the upstairs of the home so you'll have a good deal of privacy. We want you to feel relaxed and at home while staying with us so can interact with you as much as you'd like apart from check-in and brief conversation while you have your breakfast. Take some time hiking in the Tolowa Dunes less than one mile away or watch the sunset from Kellogg Beach, also only one mile away. Go for a bike ride along beautiful green farm pastures or go kayaking on the largest coastal lagoon in California and watch the array of birds and wildlife that regularly reside in or frequent the area. Opportunities for horseback trail riding in the Tolowa Dunes or the redwood forest is offered as well as visits to the local farms all within a two mile radius as is fishing on the Smith River. Sites where they filmed some of the top Hollywood movies are just down the road as well. Explore our Guidebook for some of` the charming sights nearby our home. Public transportation is limited in Crescent City so your own car is essential exploring the beaches, redwoods, and local sites. We are located just north of town in Fort Dick between Crescent City and the Oregon Border. Just to reiterate, the bathroom is private unless another guest is staying in the room next door (listed under Quaint Wooded Farmhouse Getaway). On weekends and peak season (summer, spring break), it's likely both rooms could be occupied so please be aware bathroom would be shared in those circumstances. We have indoor dogs who are very sweet also outdoor animals including chickens, rabbits, and goats. There are two beds in this room. No smoking of any substance in the room. This includes marijuana. Please be considerate and choose a different listing if you wish to smoke.
