Folks love it here. It's a peaceful spot and has great energy. The studio has a cabiny feel(note: restroom is outdoors[read on below***]). Gas grill, locally roasted coffee and organic half n half provided, radical! 99% of guests are out this way for Olympic National Park. 10 minute drive to Dungeness Rec. Area with saltwater beach/bluffs. 5 minute drive to Dungeness river access along Runnion RD. *Think rural! This space is in the country and wonderfully rustic. You are sure to hear birdsong( and frogsong seasonally as there is a large pond nearby). Bald eagles have recently taken up residence in a large cottonwood tree here on the property. *The studio building is a fairly new construction vaulted ceiling one room house with full kitchen(stove, oven, fridge, double basin sink), bathroom and washer/dryer in Sequim. Wide open studio floor plan and no walls, in other words, not much at all in the way of privacy inside. There are stacked queen sized bunk beds& reaching the top bunk queen bed requires climbing a ladder and is best suited for physically fit people. There is a leather convertible couch that clicks down into a third bed too. The floor is concrete, like a garage, with throw rugs. Space is well insulated and heated with thermostat controlled electric in wall heater. ***Disclaimer: the toilet here is an outdoor sanikan/porta potty, this is tidy and serviced very often, it is also for airbnb guests only and noone but yourselves will be using it. Restroom is located out the back slider door and is under an eave, out of the weather and well lit with a motion sensor light. This is an entire home listing, it is all yours. The studio is behind my house but layout allows for lots of privacy. There is a lovely and private greenspace bordered by a very long cedar fence out back for you to enjoy, it is okay to build a campfire outside too, there is a basic rock fire ring. If I am home or reachable by phone, I am at your service. I am born and raised in Sequim and can give lots of information and advice. *The studio is centrally located and is a great base camp for exploring Olympic National Park, Olympic national forest & buckhorn wilderness and/or getting on the wonderful Olympic Discovery Trail. *Upper Dungeness Olympic National Park access is very close, reached by way of Taylor Cut Off RD or Palo Alto RD in Sequim, featuring great hikes such as Mt. Zion, the Gray Wolf and Royal Basin. Also, the popular Elwha and Hurricane Ridge accesses are fairly near as well. *The Olympic Discovery Trail is ideal for biking, walking, running and horse riding. One can get on from the nearby Carlsborg RD and head east into Sequim(crossing the dungeness river by way of railroad bridge park/audubon center) or west to Port Angeles & beyond. A lot of the O.D.T. is super scenic and away from roads/vehicles, it's lovely. *Many participants in the "nutrious movement" workshops stay at my place(it is a one mile walk away). End of drive. big yard. lotsa privacy. Peaceful. House is a short distance off of HWY 101 located shortly after leaving Sequim and heading towards Port Angeles. 10 minutes to downtown Sequim, 20 minutes to downtown Port Angeles from the studio. Sunny Farms country store is an under 5 minute drive for groceries(off HWY 101). Old Mill Cafe is an under 5 minute drive for breakfast, lunch and dinner(off Carlsborg RD). Gabby's is an under 5 minute drive for a coffee(off Carlsborg RD). The bus stop for clallam transit on HWY 101 is a 5 minute walk. There is one local taxi service, sun taxi. Olympic discovery trail is great for bike rides and walks, we are very close to the Carlsborg trail access. There are social dogs and cats present on the property. There are other airbnb cottages of mine on the property along the same road, you may see light traffic coming and going as a result. Beds are made up with fresh linens, pillows and comforters, and there are two extra blankets in a chest too. Local Sequim-roasted Rainshadow coffee, and organic half n half stocked in the studio. Includes drip coffee maker and filters, avocado oil, salt and pepper, paper towels, kleenex, basic cookware, toaster, dishes, dish soap, dish towels, sponge, shampoo/conditioner, body wash and laundry detergent, wash cloths, hand towels, and bath towels.There is ample safe parking. A tank of propane for BBQ is provided, there are 2 chairs and a picnic table outside on site as well.
