Description

Mountain Creek Lodge is absolute paradise for families—or anyone who fears being bored. The 4-bedroom log home, which sleeps 12, is packed with amenities to keep everybody entertained.

The downstairs game room, for instance, features a pool table… and an arcade loaded with more than 3,000 games… and Pachinko, a Japanese mechanical game similar to pinball… and a jukebox with more than 11,000 songs. But wait, there’s more: Mountain Creek Lodge also has not one but 2 media rooms. One offers a 55” TV with surround sound and an iPod dock; the other includes a 50” LCD TV and a PlayStation 3. Plus, in addition to cable channels, the lodge has free Netflix and WiFi. You might welcome a rainy day during your stay, just to give you time to take advantage of all the entertainment options.

For relaxation of a different sort, head out to one of Mountain Creek Lodge’s decks, with their fabulous views of the Smoky Mountains. Kick back in a rocking chair to watch falcons soar through the endless sky, or perch on the porch swing to look for constellations at night, or sip a beverage at the patio table while wrens and warblers sing. The best vantage point, however, might be the deck’s hot tub; listening to the breeze rustle through the trees while you soak among steamy bubbles and admire the glorious mountain view is an experience you’ll never forget.

You can relish the views from indoors as well, thanks to Mountain Creek Lodge’s numerous windows. The main floor’s great room is an especially restful gathering spot, with its large, plush couches, flat-screen TV, and stone-surround fireplace. The dining area is in the great room as well; in addition to the table, which seats 6, there’s a breakfast bar that accommodates 2 more.

The breakfast bar can double as additional counter space should you decide to channel your inner Alton Brown or Julia Child. Mountain Creek Lodge’s open, spacious kitchen is fully equipped with stainless-steel appliances, cookware, and tableware. Even if you opt to eat most of your meals at one of the many nearby restaurants, you’ll appreciate having a microwave to make popcorn for movie night and a blender to whip up smoothies or margaritas.

Three of the lodge’s 4 bedrooms feature queen-size beds; the upstairs master suite boasts a king-size bed. All 4 bedrooms include a TV, a ceiling fan, ample storage, and delightful rustic furnishings. The master suite has a few extra luxuries: a fireplace and a heart-shaped jetted tub. Romance will definitely be in the air when you make this your bedroom. In addition to the 4 bedrooms, Mountain Creek Lodge has 2 sofas that convert into beds for 2.

All 3 bathrooms, one on each floor, include double sinks and a wealth of storage. When you arrive you’ll find an abundance of clean towels, the beds beautifully made up, and plenty of extra bedding—no need to bring your own. In fact, you can pack especially light, as Mountain Creek Lodge has its own washer and dryer. Be sure to bring your swimsuit if you’re vacationing in the summer, however. Because Mountain Creek Lodge is part of the Covered Bridge Resort, you’ll have free access to the resort’s heated outdoor pool in the warmer months.

Leafy and beautifully landscaped, the Covered Bridge Resort provides Mountain Creek Lodge with serene surroundings, but it’s also surprisingly close to the area’s attractions. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, for instance, is less than 10 minutes from the lodge; Pigeon Forge Parkway, home to the Titanic Museum, the Tanger outlet mall, Dixie Stampede, and much more, is only 20 minutes away; Dollywood is just a 25-minute drive.

For fun from sunup to sundown, accompanied by spectacular views, Mountain Creek Lodge is tough to beat. Book your stay today… before someone else gets to it first.
